I had a wonderful three week stay at the fly fire fly and have different family members come in at different times and they all thoroughly enjoyed the location, atmosphere and cleanliness of the cottage. I hope to go back and stay again, perhaps in the fall. Jackie and family members

The Garden Hamlet Cottages in Flat Rock, NC are a must stay! Located on the property of The Highland Lake Resort that is both beautiful and steeped in history
We stayed at The Lark and absolutely loved it! A charming bungalow with an awesome screened porch and stone patio overlooking the goat pasture
So comfortable , clean and well equipped
Walk to the lake, enjoy the gardens and definately bring some carrots and apples for the goats!

This was our second year in a row to rent at The Hamlet for a week. BTW, we have already reserved a week there for summer, 2024!
The cottages are spacious, exceptionally clean, with well equipped kitchens, and porches that look onto the huge oval grounds that have a delightful herd of goats! Love those goats, and yes, they are very quiet! It is also great to be able to use the Highland Lake Inn’s pool and dine at Season’s, one of our favorite restaurants. A great, quiet getaway for families, couples or singles.
Rental, arrival, and departure were a breeze!

We’ve been to Flat Rock many times and love this rental. We call it the Goat Farm as the community of cottages surrounds a lovely pasture complete with many goats/sheep. It feels rural although only minutes from the town of Flat Rock and Hendersonville. The lake is beautiful, during the spring/summer season kayaks, canoes and paddleboats are available. The Lark has everything you need. A great covered porch that overlooks the pasture and has a grill and fire pit, even provided wood which we used in the living room fireplace. Kitchen fully equipped, gas stove, dishwasher. Tv in living room easy to figure out and internet signal is pretty good. The cottage was spotlessly clean when we arrived, even with Covid felt safe and masks are required on the property. Can’t beat the location and atmosphere for a reasonably priced mountain getaway.

We have rented a number of Garden Hamlet cottages, and this is one of our favorites.
It is in a great location, just across the paved parking area from Seasons restaurant and a comfortable view of the animals in the pasture . This time we were surprised that it had been totally refreshed on the inside. New paint, counter tops, appliances and furniture. We enjoyed the Willow for a week and entertained my wife's brother and his wife for several days during our stay. This is an ideal location to enjoy Flat Rock and Hendersonville. One minor lookout, one of the bedrooms has twin beds.

We have stayed at the Garden Hamlet Cottages several times and each time it seems to just get better! Steve, the property manager, is so nice to deal with. You feel like he is your friend and wants you to have a nice stay! Every cottage is different, but all of the cottages surround a beautiful pasture of goats and sheep. I would highly recommend this location if you are seeking a peaceful trip and want to enjoy the beautiful NC mountain region. Hendersonville is close by, but the best restaurant, Seasons, is walking distance from the cottages.

My wife and I have been to and stayed at "the Garden Hamlets" in Flat Rock for many years and we look forward to continuing to stay there again and again. We have stayed in several different cottages there over the years and they are all just wonderful and have their own character. Steve is and has always been great to work with in accommodating us when we call. Even when a last-minute decision to head up to the mountains, based on availability of course. Our most recent stay there was to celebrate our Anniversary and the cottage we stayed in was the Willow. It was absolutely fantastic! Overlooking the pasture where the goats and sheep graze, making their way up our way for an afternoon feeding of Apples and Carrots. It's just so peaceful and quiet there. We always enjoy taking our walks around the beautiful grounds of the property and sitting by the lake. Plus, it's close and convenient to restaurants, shopping and so many other wonderful places to visit and see. It truly is a slice of Heaven staying there. We always want more time there when it's time to pack up and head for home, never wanting to leave. We're already looking forward to our next trip up...

The sweetest spot in the Garden Hamlet! We've stayed in Sourwood many times and it's always wonderful! The cottage is very well equiped and decorated with a little whimsical flare. We love it... and are already looking forward to spending Christmas there!

We rented the boathouse that is at the back of the complex right on the lake. The back porch and fire pit with views of the lake made for some really relaxing morning and evenings. Loved watching the geese land and take off. Steve, with Highland properties was very easy to work with and booking was simple. The house could use some better lighting and a few repairs to window shades. All in all, it was a wonderful stay and we hope to return next year.

Had a terrific time at Highland Lake Properties. We've been enjoying the cottages for 14 + years now. It's our perfect place to recharge and reconnect with family and nature. We love Henderson County, NC and the cottages at Highland Lake Propeties are centrally located to the places we like to enjoy. Steve and team are the best ever.
