A nice one-stop break on a motorcycle tour of this scenic area. Large and clean hotel room, safe parking, on-site restaurant and even a pool and spa made this a winner. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Sometime it’s not just the fanciness that makes 5 stars, it’s the people and the experience. It’s a simple place, no frills but all together with the onsite restaurant we had a great time. Location was perfect. Room was clean and comfortable. Hotel and restaurant staff was nice and friendly. Included Breakfast was really great for a two stars hotel, with good choice for all tastes. Loved the pancakes and sausages. Restaurant also served good food and reasonably priced. We were always satisfied after a meal. It seems to be a hang out for the local people. I think it’s probably one of the better place to stay in this area.
Location is good for visiting Capitol Reef and to start (or finish) a sightseeing journey on highway 12. We visited in the off-season, which is great for visiting the national parks but there is not much to do in Torrey and finding a place to eat is a challenge. The Broken Spur restaurant is closed for dinner during the winter season, but fortunately breakfast is available. Room was OK. Our four-year-old liked the on-site playground.
My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at Broken Spur Inn when we were visiting Capitol Reef National Park. This charming motel is located up a hill and, since we were on the second floor, we had fantastic views to wake up to both mornings of our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable. We loved the western motif complete with horseshoe and spur towel racks. The breakfast room was also decorated similarly. Speaking of breakfast, we very much enjoyed the one here which was included with our stay. I spoke with the hardworking, friendly gentleman in charge of making it. He told me he arrives around 3:20 a.m. to start getting everything ready. We especially loved his pancakes! They also have an indoor pool, which my husband used, and a hot tub, which we both enjoyed. It was fun to meet visitors from other countries in the pool area! Broken Spur Inn also has several Conestoga Wagons for those that want to have a glamping experience. They looked super cute and if our kids were younger, our family would have loved to stay in one! So fun! Additionally, the staff was very warm and accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Capitol Reef! …
Very cute theme carried throughout . Indoor pool warm and clean. The hot tub jets didn’t work very well. A great local hotel. The restaurant was very popular but our special of the night prime rib was served raw. Very pricey.
We stayed here for 1 night in September, arrived late and departed early, which was a shame as we would have loved to have seen the hotel grounds during daylight as from what we could see in our brief visit – the grounds were well maintained, and gave a proper authentic ranch feel. The room was large (we booked a standard room, but believe we were given an accessible) – the bathroom was super large, but basic. The room was clean, with ample space and continued the ranch style theme. Unfortunately there was no safe in the room but it had fridge. We ate at the onsite restaurant as there was limited choice in such a small town, which sadly was nothing special (see separate review on this) – be aware this closes at 9pm which for late arriving guests is far too early! There is an onsite pool and jacuzzi – which annoyingly closes at 10pm. As this is in a self-contained exterior building, why can this not be opened until much later for late arriving guests? We managed to get into the pool for 30mins before it closed, the pool was nice, the water was warm and the pool was a good size. The pool area was well maintained, including towels and beds. There was also a really nice, 4-person hot tub which was well needed after a long drive – if only it was open longer!! The following morning, we went for the complimentary breakfast buffet. This was really good and had a good selection of hot and cold options which we enjoyed. However, despite being in the same location as the restaurant the night before – the breakfast buffet was full of plastic cutlery and plastic cups, please stop using plastic!!! Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this hotel – and would consider staying again in the future – although we would prefer to stay in a standard room when booking a standard, rather than an accessible room.…
For a 2.5 star establishment (as per Hotels.com), this is a very charming, western decorated place to stay for a short time. Granted, the rooms needed renovation especially the bathroom. Having said that, there was more space than an average franchise hotel. This is a short drive to Capital Reef NP, and the views were beautiful. We had an unexpected snow fall, and the front desk associate let me use the snow removal brush. The breakfast was hot, good, with plenty of variety. The staff couldn't be more plesant despite being filled to capacity. My wife and I had dinner in the restaurant, and it was delicioius. Given all the options in Torrey UT, I would say this is the best.
Hotel has changed owners and needs a update bad. This is scheduled occur at the end of the month. We stay in 123 and the tub was so slick, my wife slipped and fell taking a shower. Breakfast was good, bed was a little hard for my liking, but that is subjective.
The motel is a bit dated. Our king room was spacious enough, but the bathroom is so tiny you can barely turn around. Water temp in the shower will vary. Wifi was too weak to use in our room (didn't try it at the lobby). Only one bedside table, so I had to drag a chair over for a place to put my book, phone and glasses at night. The restaurant is expensive, doesn't really fit with the motel level lodging. The food is good but not stellar. As of October 2022, the property had just sold and the restaurant cannot serve alcohol until the new owner obtains a liquor license. Nice hot breakfast buffet: scrambled eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, pancakes, fruit, instant oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, yogurt, granola, mini muffins, coffee, tea, juice. The pool is in a separate building. Laundry room has three washers and dryers, $2.50 per load each. Change machine and detergent vending machine available in laundry room. Staff was great! Thanks to the breakfast man for suggesting a scenic route for us to take to Salt Lake City.…
Stayed for one night on our road trip Lovely staff Hotel a bit tired but clean Restaurant excellent service and amazing steak Would recommend to break up journey Only downside was mosquitos but staff seemed to think this was due to the rain they had had
