If you have traveled Utah in this area, you know the choices are limited, however in this case, it would not matter, this is a very good choice. I initially booked a standard room because we were not staying 2 nights and could not get a wagon. After entering the room, I could see the disappointment in the kids eyes, and I must admit, I was not thrilled. It is a basic room with a great view. Most people will be fine with a standard room, however what sets this place apart is the Cottages. After checking in, I walked down by the cottages and wagons and the entire atmosphere changed. I went to the office and they had a opening, so I upgraded and moved. great choice. The restaurant is average but there is a bar/restaurant across the street with live music and we were allowed to BYOB, rather than just have the 3.2% on draft beer.

We stayed here for a surprise trip that my husband planned for my birthday. The motel staff was super friendly and helpful during check-in and honored the room we had requested when we booked online. The motel itself has gone under a major remodel since we last had stayed here and was under new management. We stayed in one of the rooms that had been redone from the original motel. The room was clean and felt big even though it was a standard motel size. The furniture had a fun western flair and ours even had a nice sitting area with a king size bed. The bathroom vanity was large and the bathroom itself was very clean. We even had a small counter to prepare a quick snack or breakfast, a mini fridge and a coffee maker. The wifi was free and was better than most free hotel wifi offers. The location was super close to Capitol Reef and there were many good dinning options in the city of Torrey. During the summer they said they offered clamping Tepees and Covered Wagons. The pool was small but nice and they had a fire pit lit each night. I would stay here again.

There are about 4 types of rooms you can stay in and we stayed in a standard room, but thought the covered wagon or Teepees would be fun for a family. The restaurant was average but the views and pool and hot tubs etc. were great.

We stayed three nights and totally enjoyed ourselves. The room was clean and the view was amazing. The fire pits are a fantastic way to meet other people at night and actually gave the resort a bed and breakfast feel. The only complaint was breakfast was a little underwhelming for $10 a piece. There were a couple of places in town that did a better job with breakfast for a similar price. We would definitely stay at Capital Reef Resort again.

A great place to stay and close to capitol reef park. Rooms were very nice, fridge , microwave. There are teepees and wagons to stay in also but a little more money! Nice cool pool and hot tub. Close to everything. Does have a restaurant on location for breakfast and dinner. There is a store a few miles down the road if you need to buy lunch food to take to park.
