Property's Favorite Review
This was one of the nicest places we have ever stayed!!! The lodge is absolutely beautiful! We stayed in huge two bedroom cabin that was awesome! The decor is top notch, beautiful stone floors, big wooden beds, nice leather couches and chairs. It snowed during our stay, which made the resort look like a winter wonderland, but I can only imagine how beautiful it must be in the summer as well. The facility is amazing and would be a lovely place to host a wedding. One of our favorite things was the access offered to the main office building where you could get small snacks, drinks (water, juice, milk, etc...) and amazing coffee throughout the day. The breakfast quiche is AWESOME!!!! Highly recommend this luxury resort if you are ever in the Torrey area.

We can't wait to return. We came to see Capitol Reef National Park which was only minutes away. It was so comfortable at the Cougar Ridge casitas that we really didn't want to leave. We brought our own food and cooked on their clean grill and loved sitting on the porch enjoying the views. It was perfect.

We choose the Cougar Ridge for our annual siblings weekend. It was absolutely incredible! The grounds are so peaceful & beautifully maintained. We often saw the ranch hand working hard to ensure that every detail was cared for. It is a working ranch and we loved interacting with the animals! Our casita was nice, clean and so comfortable! The hot tub was the perfect way to end our days and the breakfast that was delivered each morning was so yummy! We enjoyed relaxing morning coffee on the porch and had plenty of coffee options to choose from. Scott, Jake , Bailey & Gary were all so welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time! We made forever memories that we I’ll always cherish! We can’t wait to come back with our spouses! The town to Torrey is so quaint and everyone was so friendly. Scott recommended the Hunt & Gather & the Wild Rabbit for dinner and lunch. Both were absolutely amazing! Highly recommended!

Our seven-day stay, at the beginning of July 2020, in a casita at the Cougar Lodge was just a wonderful experience. The large casita (we were told they are all the same) was fully furnished and equipped and had a two beautiful bedrooms/baths with living room and kitchen, as well as a balcony facing an amazing scenery of green fields and red rock formations. The standard of the construction, furniture, and fixtures, as well as the attention to details are far better than one can find in a five-star hotel, it is just unparalleled! Topping all of this was the ‘concierge type’ customer service that Gary (the owner) and Jeri (manager) are providing as well as the endless activities and day trips that the lodge has to offer. This is really one of a kind property!!!

This was such an unexpected gem! The accommodations are absolutely stellar. We travel a lot and just came from a long term Airbnb rental in Frisco, Colorado that was just okay. This was such an amazing upgrade that we will definitely recommend it to anyone traveling here. The linens are brand new, the casita we stayed in was brand new, and the host was very accommodating. Loved it!

My family of 6 loved staying in one of the casitas at Cougar Ridge. There was plenty of room for my 4 kids to share the second bedroom. We brought our own groceries to make dinner for our one night stay after spending the afternoon at Capitol Reef. We used the Traeger Grill and the kitchen was fully stocked with a fridge, microwave, hot plate, pots, pans, plates, etc. During these times with COVID, we felt more comfortable eating in rather than eating out. Also, the wifi was good, the shower pressure was good, the mattresses were firm, and they provided slippers which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you want a luxurious landing pad after doing a national park.

We stayed in one of the casitas - top notch all around. I wish we had brought steaks or salmon to grill etc. We were only two people but having two bathrooms was a treat. Breakfast delivered to the door (no choices except food allergy/vegetarian/religious) was pretty small & boring.
If you are a larger family and wealthy, the lodge would be a great choice. We explored it - super nice. One family paid for a private rodeo, but we could watch - very worth it. We would definitely stay here again and stay longer.

Cougar Ridge Lodge is a perfect place for a long visit to Capitol Reef. We stayed in the hotel unit 9. You could tell the designers had traveled a lot because it was laid out perfectly with space for relaxing, putting away items and even enjoying the surroundings. Suzie was a dream hostess and breakfast was delicious quiche, fruit and other items.
We travel a lot and are trying to figure out how to get back to Cougar Ridge!

Highly, highly recommended. We took a visit in January and did not expect this!!!. About 10 miles from Capitol reef national park is this beautiful resort. We rented a Casita for our family of five. Every single thing in our casita was extremely high end, bathrooms, floors, kitchen and even details like labeled light switches and fans on dimmers.. and yet it was amazingly cozy we just wanted to stay in the house and relax! Gas fireplace in the living room plus central heat with controls in each room. And I cannot even describe the view. Looking out our back deck we just saw beautiful red rock mountains and longhorns , alpacas, donkeys and horses! At night the sky was endless with more stars then we have ever seen in our life!! We were able to rent a 2 Lane Bowling Alley and had it all to ourselves with some friends, and the owner was there serving drinks. After that, he had a bonfire going for us when we were finished! Every casita has the same view… The hot tub was steps from our balcony and it was amazing to sit in at night watching the stars! We could not recommend Cougar Ridge Ranch anymore!!
