If you want a different kind of experience, visit Kotzebue, AL the week of July 4 during the Eskimo Trade Fair. The part in a blanket toss. Watch Anna's (elderly Eskimo ladies) skin seals with their Ulus (Ulues?), a curved knife, in a timed contest, taste some muktuk. Watch them hang fish on a line to dry. DO NOT BRING... More

Kotzebue sits slightly north of the arctic circle and is really only accessible by plane. It is a town of about 3,000 people, primarily Inupiat natives. The hotel is a good place to get a nights sleep in this small town. Rooms are clean, the food served in the restaurant is certainly adequate and the staff treat you well. Please... More

Stayed two nights here. Loved this town. The staff that work here take great pride in this hotel. While not over the top rooms they are more than average. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. We ate at the restaurant (love that you're surrounded by Windows) both for breakfast and dinner and were very satisfied. Staff and servers took care of... More

Wonderfully clean room. Comfortable bed, shower was good hot water. Great view from the fourth floor. Didn't get a chance to try the food at the restaurant maybe next time. Didn't have any noise problems

I've spent many nights in hotels throughout Alaska and the Nullagvik is one of the very best. Clean, quite, great staff, nice restaurant, excellent location, beautiful view of the ocean. Not many hotels where you can spot whales from your dinner table. If you find yourself in Kotzebue definitely consider staying here. It is expensive but so is most of... More

Pretty funny that in a town that bases a large portion of it's income on hunters, the hotel policy is for all firearms to be checked in at the front desk. Kotzebue is a long way from home, but last time I checked the constitution still applied in Alaska. By the way, don't bring a 6 pack or a bottle... More

Spent nine days in the outback of Alaska on a hunting trip. The Nullagvik Hotel was a nice change to the freezing temps in a tent. It was nice to have a decent bed and warm showers. These are nice clean rooms. The hotel staff are excellent and this is the best place in town to stay. The food was... More

This is the best choice in town. The hotel is relatively new and is well constructed. The lobby and restaurant are beautiful. There is an espresso stand in the lobby/restaurant and it was quiet and comfortable in the Observation Lounge. Hotel has a small fitness room and working guest laundry.

The customer service provided by all associates that I interacted with was very welcoming. I'm used to staying with a marriott brand and I feel they did a very comparable job. I ate at the restaurant for lunch and dinner. I was surprised there was a nice selection for being so remote. Prices weren't too bad either. Hotel is a... More

The hotel is clean and comfortable. The rooms are adequate size and the beds are comfortable. The food in the restaurant is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. Be prepared for "Alaska prices". It is a smoke free and alcohol free hotel. I will not stay anywhere else in Kotzebue.
