The hotel was clean and well-equipped. The towels were soft, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel is right down the road from Canyon de Chelly, and not far from town. The guided jeep tour picked us up right at the hotel. Great time.

My travel buddy and I spent two nights at the Holiday Inn. It was great to park our car a few steps away from our room which allowed easy access with our luggage via the sliding doors. Loved the spacious room, firm, comfortable bed, close proximity to Canyon de Chelly, gorgeous

Holiday Inn Express was very nice and comfortable. The town was easy to get around and directions to area activities were pretty good with the exception was finding the canyon tours by jeep. (our phones wouldn't work there) Love seeing the canyon and cliff dwellings. Drive thro

Review your credit card charges at this hotel carefully if applicable. The hotel overcharged me and my wife on two different occasions for incidental charges. When the front desk was made aware of the discrepancies, they denied that it happened and said we could dispute the cha

Hi James L, Thank you for your stay and for taking the time to share your experience with us. I am sorry to read your dismay with the service level of our staff and the billing process. The experience you described certainly isn’t what we want for any guest. Our managers have been informed of your situation and have reinforced training to our staff. Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We hope you grant us another opportunity to show you our true levels of hospitality. Regards, Christian C. Case Manager IHGService

I need advice on a one-night stay in this area. I have a reservation already at the Best Western but saw the Thunderbird after making it. Can anyone advise as to Thunderbird vs. Best Western? I am assuming the Holiday Inn is in third place but could ask about it as well. I appreciate advice. I can cancel the BW rez at any time and it is for late August. Thank you!
I agree that the Holiday Inn was great in every aspect. Really nice property with rooms around a large grassy area. Room was all you could want with small patio. Very reasonable restaurant that featured a few local dishes, such as Navajo frybread and blue corn crusted trout that were nothing special but fine. Gift shop (but not open on weekends.) BW surrounds a parking lot and coffee shop. Guide told us Tbird was older but maybe he has relatives at HI ;) Honestly, we thought it was the most attractive Holiday Inn we've ever stayed at (IHG members) and interesting history (former trading post).

What is the hotel's policy on pets? I have a golden retriever who travels with me - can he stay at the hotel?
We didn't have our pets with us and I don't see pets allowed at their website. I'd give them a call.

Is there a safe in the room?
There was not a safe in my room, at least as far as I was aware. I didnt need one. It is possible the hotel has rooms with safes.

Are there king rooms available that er not facing the parking lot? if yes, what are those rooms facing? (EG pool, meadow, ...)
I had a beautiful king room, on the second floor, that looked out on the pool and grounds. I was very pleased with the hotel, the staff, and the accommodations. The fantastic views are inside the canyon, but surrounding the hotel is quite pleasant.

"figure out what you expect and need."
"Get the ground floor room facing your parking spot so you can unload bags just 10' from the sliding door into your room."
"Ground floor room is better"
