The Dana Mission Bay was the most affordable option I found for my first visit to San Diego and one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had; esthetically beautiful grounds, rooms and pools. The food and wine was incredible. Beyond everything was our experience with the staff. The customer service was exceptional; not only did the staff go well out of their way to help, they were genuinely caring and big hearted. Bobby not only ensured we were well cared for as did his team including Sonia, Thomas, Fernando. (Fernando makes the best omlettes in town) but he took the time to get to know us. My partner and I did not feel like customers, we left feeling as though we were part of the Dana family. My partner and I can not recommend the Dana Mission Bay enough. Thank you for making my first vacation in four years one of the most memorable.

Our team was thrilled by how easy it was to book and host a quality retreat here. Cassidy and Mariana were very accommodating and the entire staff was wonderful. The conference food was above and beyond great. The grounds were beautiful, centrally located, and had enough space to make you feel like you really had a "home" for the week where you could connect as a team. The rooms were also very comfortable. And all of this came at a very reasonable price. 100% would recommend it!

The rooms need to be updated and front desk service better when there is an issue. We had skateboarders out in front of our room at 10 at night and took 4 times to call front desk to get them to answer, when they did they said they couldn't do anything if they were random skateboarders which they weren't they were staying in hotel!

We have always liked the Dana. We’ve stayed here a few times on our way to or from somewhere but this time we made it a destination. Our room was comfortable and very spacious. The grounds are beautiful. The pool areas are lovely and I took advantage of every sunny day. The army of workers who keep this large property running are always ready with a smile and a greeting. The lovely people at Firefly kept us comfortably caffeinated every morning. A special thanks to Melissa at the front office who made sure we were happy. Of course there are things that could improve - the bathrooms are a bit dated. However I would prefer the slightly dated bathrooms (which are kept spotless) to a large increase in rates. This is a well used and unpretentious resort. Children and dogs are welcomed and expected to frolic and play. I loved our stay at the Dana. We enjoyed morning and afternoon walks watching plants start to bloom. Loved to watch the activity in the park and on the water. Loved the peace and quiet. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to come back.

This is the 5th or 6th time I’ve stayed at The Dana, we love the location but unfortunately this will probably be the last time. I booked a room for February 14th and 15th to checkout the 16th, on the night of the 14th we used the toilet and it didn’t flush, the next morning I went to the front desk (because the phone in room didn’t work) to let them know we were going to breakfast 7:45am but would like our toilet fixed when gone. We got back to the room at 11:45am and the toilet had not been fixed, I then had to walk to the front desk (phone not working) and get them to call someone to fix the toilet, 30 mins later they send someone who spent 3 minutes in the bathroom and said it was fixed, 1pm rolls around and we use the bathroom and again it doesn’t flush… so I again walk down to the front desk and ask them to change our rooms, they agreed to change room to next door but told me I had to completely vacate the previous room, leave my things in the hallway come back down to the front desk and get keys to the new room. No offer to help us move our stuff, no hey we can leave access to the first room until you’re moved into the new room (literally the room next door) they made me move all my things into the hallway. This is the 2nd time we’ve had an issue at this hotel and it sucks because we love the location (few miles from home) we love the grounds and the views. For nearly $900 for 2 nights this is 100% unacceptable.

We are so very fortunate to have had our wedding at The Dana at Mission Bay! Not only is the venue GORGEOUS but the staff is also top notch. Starting with the compassionate, supportive and detail-oriented coordinator, Christina. Christina ensured every detailed was accounted for and the wedding flowed smoothly. Our bartender, Brad, was so friendly, charismatic and efficient at serving big groups. The overall banquet department, specifically Shelly, Tanja, Pattie and Rob, ensured all guests needs were met with fun, positive energy. We had guests telling us how great the staff was and how this was the best wedding dinner they’ve ever had. Also, shout out to Shelly who took initiative to take fantastic photos of the reception before guests arrived and uploaded them to our QR code. We can’t thank the entire staff at The Dana at Mission Bay enough for making our special day absolutely amazing. 💕

Check in was fast and friendly. We had a good Lanai 2 queen room. Although the room is small (it could use a chair other than a desk chair ) it was adequate but tight quarters for 2 people and 2 small dogs but we managed. The grounds are awesome and there are great places to take walks. The Firefly is an amazing restaurant bar with friendly attentive staff. We loved this hotel.
