The service at this hotel was fantastic from start to finish, the rooms are on the small side but full of character - they've modernised the rooms but kept the ornate features from when it was a bank. It was walking distance to Gaslamp Quarter to grab drinks and food and also to Petco Park to watch the baseball. We... More

I've been staying at Marriott hotels for decades, all over the nation, and this one by far is the best all around. The service by the very friendly and experienced staff was the hallmark of the hotel. From the curbside valet to the bellmen at checkout-we were very pleased with the consistent courteous and warm manner of all the staff.... More

Writing this review in the middle of the night. Can't sleep because the horrible smell in the guest room. Smells like Body odor. There are NO WINDOWS THAT OPEN! Old smells have been baking in these rooms for years without fresh air. Got into the room and housekeeping had left washcloths and trash on the floor beside the bed. To... More

Dear Fred R, Please accept our sincere apologies for the room(s) not being up to Marriott Standards. When you found your first room not fully serviced and stinky, we should have immediately found you a better room. Then to hear that after your first night you transferred to another room thinking it was better, only to realized after several hours,... More

So, let's start with the basics. The rooms are clean and come with a great view of the city. They could use a small update, but beautiful none the less. If you don't want to pay 40 a day for valet, then park around the corner (25 for 2.5 days) and use uber. 5-6 dollars a ride to get anywhere... More

Free wifi, comfortable clean rooms, gym, Monday thru Thursday happy hour specials for drinks and dinner. This hotel is located right next to the tons of restaurants and there are tons of activities to do. The hotel offers $40 valet parking, if you park the car yourself it costs about $30. All the staff was very helpful and friendly, I... More

We stayed here because of location and value. It was a good choice even though the valet parking was $40 / day. We believe that they take the car to one of a couple nearby public garages that charge much less, but it is very convenient to have the car brought around when you need it. The room was great... Good location in the center of the city. Walking distance to major bars, restaurants and shops in Gaslamp District. Room was clean and bedding comfortable. Staff was great and the bar/restaurant has amazing food. Only issue we had was with parking in the city. We chose to park on the street for free during the hours of 6pm to 8am.... More

We made last minute reservations at this centrally located hotel. Everything about it was nice. Good location and fine room. When we booked it, we planned to use parking nearby because the $40 per night parking fee seemed crazy exorbitant. Turns out there is really no good option to just biting the bullet and paying for the parking.

Great location just a block from the busy gas lamp district. The lobby is an attraction in its own, as it is a restored lobby from an early 20th century bank. The rooms are what you would expect from a courtyard. The restaurant attached is more than your standard courtyard restaurant.
