This is a pretty neat hotel that used to be an old bank building. The lobby area is beautiful, and they have a cool bar. Checkin was really smooth, and the rooms are well appointed. Room service was fast and tasty. The location here is pretty good - short walk to the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. One issue -... More

Set in an old bank building, the hotel has maintained much of the original architecture and styling which makes this a different experience in a modern hotel. We loved it and my kids rated this the best hotel we stayed in on our US trip. Standout for me was the staff. From valet when we arrived after a long drive,... More

I was shocked that this was a Courtyard! Typically what you get is pretty generic at Courtyards- same decor, same colors, etc. This was not a typical Courtyard at all! You can tell it used to be an old bank and it's very impressive. The hotel has a lot of charm. The decor in the hotel and in the room... More

I stayed at this hotel for two nights by myself. The hotel is closed to the tram station named 5th Avenue, where some trams are bound to San Ysidro, the boarder to Mexico. The room was clean and comfortable as other Morriott hotels are, but the most impressive thing was the lobby with very high ceiling which looked like a... More

Stayed for a couple of nights. Will not repeat what everyone else has said about the historical nature and architecture of the building but to agree it has a great deal of character and is quite interesting. All of the personnel I interacted with were very nice. The room itself was very nice, comfortable bed, clean, WIFI worked quite well... More

The hotel is located in a historical landmark and the lobby has been beautifully renovated. Rooms are very clean and decorated with attention to detail. This is not the boring standard hotel but has special appeal. Breakfast options are good and the lobby is very inviting for drinks before dinner. Location is very convenient with all downtown attractions and restaurants... More

Was upgraded to the presidential suite . . what can I say - spectacular!! Views of downtown, the water and the city. The hotel is a renovated historical building and as such a walk through the lobby in a journey in time. The hotel offers a short guided tour of the history of the building (well worth it). Hotels location... More

Had a waterview room and was beautiful. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I watched the sunset and sunrise from the room. The renovations are well done. The old and preserved building is beautiful. I walked to the Gaslamp Quarter for dinner. Will definitely return

Beautiful hotel, originally was a bank built in 1888. The ceilings and marble and spaciousness of the lobby is a beautiful sight to behold everytime you come in. Transformed into a modern hotel. Room spacious as was bathroom, plush towels, extremely comfortable beds. Had a problem with bathroom sink, it was fixed immediately after we reported it. Located in the... More

This hotel should appeal to anyone except those who want a hotel with all modern architecture. It is a conversion of an old bank to a hotel. Therefore the decor is that of a classic building. The old bank safes are down in the lower level and are blended into the decor of the hotel. The room was surprisingly large.... More
