My husband and I visited San Diego over Labor Day weekend and absolutely fell in love with this hotel. The location was perfect - right in the middle of the city. The setting from the beautiful lobby to the rooftop pool to the breathtaking view from our room -- all made for a relaxing long weekend. We are looking forward...

It's a grand old property, luxurious and opulent, with a breathtaking lobby. The rooms are very nice and the beds were especially comfortable. Be warned, there seemed to be little insulation from outside noise, the public transport horns and whistles as well as the general street traffic could be heard from the 7th floor and seemed to be pretty frequent,...

The Westgate Hotel is in the heart of San Diego, has 19 floors, and we stayed on the 18th floor facing San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean. While you can actually see the bay and the bridge crossing over to Coronado Island, there are other high rise buildings that eliminate a view of the sunset – at least in...

Pros: 1) location is good 2) clean 3) hotel is beautiful Cons: 1) the workout facility was gutted and a new one was built across the courtyard but evidently guests can't use it? There's a 1/10 mi running track, lap pool, and a couple of elliptical machines outside if the weather is decent (no weights). I asked for a recommendation...

I travel for a living and see many hotels and the type of product they offer. My biggest pet peeve is when a hotel begins to feel like they have a superior product and the customer owes them. I see that from this property. I parked a rental car with them. $36 a night. I'm all for a business making...

Nice hotel, with luxurious lobby. The rooms are very yellow and a big. Excellent beds and the shower is of high quality.... But: I was on the 7 st floor and I could still hear the public transportation (tram) in the street until late in the night. They already starting at 5 am, so be sure to book a room...

Horton Plaza, the Gaslamp Quarter, the downtown theaters as well as shopping and restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. Our room (1090) faced downtown with a view out to Coronado and overlooked the Balboa Theater and Horton Plaza which was decorated for Christmas Holidays. The Westgate has all standard amenities, fitness, pool, lap-track, wire-less and on site Valet parking. The...
