This hotel is such a lovely luxe hotel. The rooms are enormous with a whole separate walk in dressing area and a equally large bathroom. Gigantic bed which is so comfortable. The rooms were immaculate and clean and I like that most rooms seem to have a balcony. The staff are friendly and attentive. Pool area and a little outdoor...

Quite a flowery, chintzy hotel with reproduction furnishings (although built in seventies). Staff helpful and friendly and rooms big. I was on the 5th floor and found the street noise very loud at night/early morning. There were no rooms available on higher floors. Breakfast was à la carte and very disappointing. "Full American" was 2 eggs, 2 sausages, potatoes and...

I stayed here as part of a business conference. I love the classic look and feel of the hotel and some of the quirkiness that goes with it. I don't know of the building is that old, but it has the look with classy decor and fixtures. It reminds me of the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, but I know...

I have stayed at this hotel once before and I really like the rooftop pool and semi out-door gym facility and jogging track. The hotel as such is really classy with a lot of marble and stuff. The staff is very service minded and helpful. Unfortunately, I had a room facing third avenue quite close to C street and the...

Got to spend several days here while in town for professional reasons. It purports to be a luxury hotel and much of what they do lives up to those standards--yet some other aspects were puzzling or even disappointing. The staff is helpful to a fault, and in a charming way many of them have either French names or French accents....

Food is quite pricey but thanks to the location you can just pop to the shops instead! The rooms are a great size and I love the separate dressing area, the...

We recently discovered the Westgate in San Diego; we can't figure why we never knew about it before. It literally the perfect hotel for those who yearn for the hard to find high quality hotels and who love the pre-1930 hotels that can be found in western Europe, at least in Italy and France, less so in England and Spain....

I say grand and old because both are true. Business traveler and my usual spot at Manchester Hyatt was booked solid. Westgate is located on an interesting stretch of Broadway in downtown San Diego. Easy walk to offices, courthouse, Balboa Theatre and even Gaslamp. However, this far up Broadway becomes shady character central later at night, so beware of your...

The hotel rooms are tastefully decorated and very large. Everything you need for a buiness trip. Food isn't to over priced and is cooked to a good standard. Very good location. Always a warm welcome. Only problem I had was a homeless person sneaked into the lobby toilets and was swearing at me when I walked in.
