This was just a one night stay and I wished it was a week. We did not want to leave this charming, delightful hotel. When we checked in, the gentleman at the front desk, Ken, was absolutely the best. He was helpful with recommendations as well as giving us an over all view of the hotel and amenities. He was... More

GORGEOUS hotel in a historic building in the heart of San Diego. Comfortable and clean, beautiful restaurant open all day and serving good food. 10 minutes from boardwalk, at the edge of party area of San Diego, very lively. Only negative for me was absence of a self-park option.

This boutique hotel has a cool, old "wild west" vibe to it and rooms are beautiful. I loved the open courtyard/atrium right off of the lobby, and food at the hotel restaurant was really good. My room had a balcony that overlooked the courtyard with a view of the city skyline, which was a nice place to relax. The hotel... More

I do not like hidden fee's such as paying extra for parking. $38 a night is ridiculous. Paying extra to store my vehicle has just caused me to rethink doing business with Horton Grand Hotel in the future because of that fact. I love the area and the stay was wonderful. I just can't stand being gouged. If consumers are... More

Hello Alan, Thank you for letting us know about your stay. We are sorry that you were not informed about the parking price. We don't charge any resort fees as well as free internet and we even include water in the room complementary for our guest. Being in down town parking charge are a slandered at all hotels due to... The hotel is beautifully restored, with lovely period detail throughout. The staff is one of the nicest and most helpful I've ever met. Lovely, spacious rooms with soaring ceilings, balconies facing a shady inner courtyard, fireplaces, antique furnishings. The decor is super romantic. Channeling Downton Abbey! We loved being away from the bustle of the convention center/chain hotel hub, yet... More

I attended a baseball game at Petco in early July, and I wanted to stay somewhere that was 1) walking distance from Petco, and 2) not a cookie-cutter, chain hotel. The Horton Grand was a perfect fit for both. The location was amazing...right in the middle of the gas lamp district and about a 5-minute walk from the park. Lots... More

The Horton Grand Hotel is a very historic hotel. There seemed to be historical surprises on a lot of the floors. A great location for attending events at the convention center. Our room (218) was located on the second floor and in the back of the building, overlooking their patio/alley way. The outside of the hotel isn't all that spectacular... More

Besides the convenient location, the charm of this hotel can not be matched. My friends and I stayed here for the 4th of July and loved the courtyard, fireplace, size of the room and balcony. The staff were helpful and the bar was beautiful. Everything about this place makes it unique. WE WILL DEFINATLY BE BACK!

What a quaint and historic hotel! The lobby and open courtyard are gorgeous. Rooms are clean with comfy beds. We asked for a room away from nightclub and it was very quiet. We checked in early and were very pleased that our room was ready. Only complaint is that valet parking is pricey - $38. There didn't seem to be... More

I've stayed at the Horton Grand a few times over the years, the last being July 4th. This is a great old hotel in the center of the Gaslamp Quarter action but some of the rooms, especially the mini-suites in the south wing are quite spacious. Although the hotel exudes history it was actually built in the 1980s by combining... More
