Check in fine. Provided meals and lack of service at BOTH towers horrendous. I have never been treated so disrespectfully nor had to wait 90 min to order; 30 more for water and additional hour for terrible, cold food. No selection, no taste, way over priced. Surly; understaffed waitstaff. Just get an Uber and go elsewhere. No management willing to make things right. Going to bed hungry two days in a row. Saw housekeeper on my floor crying bc she was so understaffed. Felt bad. Gee mom, I wanna go home! Take your professional conferences elsewhere!

I called Loss Prevention shortly after checking into the resort and reported my Movado watch missing after I realizing it must’ve fallen off sometime between checking in and walking to my room on the 7th floor. The security officer that took the report, D, was very sympathetic when I told him the watch was a gift from my husband that I’d had for 20 years, and that it held great sentimental value for me. He asked what I’d been wearing and walked me through retracing my steps over the phone. Although he told me he’d review the camera footage, I was fairly certain the watch was gone, so was very surprised when he called me about half an hour later to say he’d reviewed the tape, and zoomed in to see the watch fall from my wrist while at the front desk! He then saw a Sheraton manager pick the watch up off the floor and was able to hold the watch in security until I was able to retrieve it the following morning. D went above and beyond, and I am so thankful that he was the officer that took my call that day. Not every employee would’ve gone to such lengths, so I send my heartfelt kudos to the Sheraton for hiring such an exemplary associate that so clearly wanted to make sure his investigation was thorough! One of the worst hotels I have ever been I checked in at the hotel after a long line . I was told that my room would be in the Bay Tower situated a certain distance from the main hotel The bay tower barely had any signage to find out your way It is very old and the carpets are dirty and discolored. The room is decorated without any taste whatsoever.. also a dirty old carpet on the floor The AC is OK. The bathroom at bare minimum. The person at concierge I asked for help with the taxi for next morning declined to help and told me in the morning although there would be someone at reception, that person would not be available to help and I would need to go to the main building

If a motel for a one night quick stay is what you are looking for. Then you have looked at the right place. I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member who has stayed at some of their best properties. This place felt like a motel as soon as we were directed to our room and walked out of the lobby. We saw the outdated and grungy carpet in the hallways, I was scared to open the door into our room in fear of what to expect. The mildewy smell of the room got me first and from that moment the rest of the room matched. Will never stay here again. This hotel should not be a part of the Marriott Bonvoy name. I was lucky that I only needed a room for one night.

I scheduled a trip to San Diego with my family, including my 1 year old son. The day before we traveled, my son became sick with a viral infection. Our pediatrician from Stanford Health said we should not go on the trip and provided us with a letter. Sheraton refused to provide an accommodation. They were the only vendor (airline, entertainment, etc.) who refused to find a way to help us out. I will never visit any of this or any of their locations again. Beware - they force you to make the decision of traveling with a sick child or protecting your family. For me, it was an easy decision - money isn't everything and I am protecting my child. For them, it is obviously a different decision - they only care about money and don't care about their guests.

So disappointed in this hotel. Pictures on their website are deceiving and some pics aren’t real. The nice lady at the front desk explained that the hotel was supposed to undergo renovations in 2020 but due to Covid, they’ve been delayed. The very realistic photos are renderings of what the hotel will look like eventually. This place needs some major work. My company book almost every room for a conference. Numerous people had plumbing issues that ranged from stopped up toilets to bathroom flooding. Some electrical outlets in rooms didn’t work, there were rooms where the balcony doors wouldn’t open, there was evidence of previous water damage in my own room, on the floor and the ceiling. As for the cleanliness, most areas of the hotel looked good. Cleanliness of the rooms, unacceptable. I took a shower and jumped out real quick to grab something, upon reentering the shower I noticed my feet were leaving black marks in the tub. That’s how dirty the carpet and floors are. On checkout day I went to straighten up the bed and as I fluffed the blanket the sun hit it showing the most disturbing stains, I can’t believe I slept with this. Granted it was in between a bottom flat sheet and a top flat sheet, but it still disgusting. The one dining room had chairs that are falling apart. They chose some metallic material that is literally disintegrating and the material sticks to clothing. How hard is it to replace chairs at the bare minimum? Until this hotel completes its renovations, I cannot recommend it. You can go to another hotel for the price.

Despite the other reviews, I didn't have a bad experience here. (see photos) I booked a 1 king room as I was attending a national conference. The grounds are VERY spread out, so be prepared to walk if you're attending an event here. There are multiple buildings everywhere. The conference rooms were all nice and the staff accommodating. Check in went quick enough, no issues there. I could tell the hotel was a bit older, but it didn't seem in horrible disrepair. It had a nice view of the water and overall was quiet. The room was quite large and had a nice private balcony facing the water. The bed was comfortable and I got great sleep. Everything was in working order and the room was overall clean. The bathroom was clean, big enough and had nice amenities. Always hot water and plenty of towels. I had several Zoom calls while there and the wifi worked well through it all even on the balcony. I didn't use the TV, so can't comment on that. The staff seemed friendly enough, but also appeared overworked and always hustling about. I wouldn't say they were rude, but they definitely were constantly rushing to somewhere. I didn't have any issues with this place and would probably stay again!

Mold throughout the rooms, ceilings falling down while guests are in the room, sewage backing up into the tubs or showers. The hotel is woefully understaffed to a point of safety concern (front desk - the first place to call in case of a room challenge - never answered the phone during an emergency) The meeting space is amazing.

Staff tried very hard to please and to address glitches. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Hotel was okay. Breakfast place was good and service was great there. Check in a bit glitchy. Took an hour from arrival to fully checked in, parked, in room - everyone trying but it just was not coming together. Issues with a/c stuck on freeze did not get resolved to had to manually turn on and off. Hard to be angry when you could see staff were trying so hard to make things right. I would give them another visit. Info for arriving travelers - go ahead and just park in the self park area, valet not really a thing. If looks like no parking, there is a dirt lot within the self park area closer to the road.

I am a Titanium Elite Traveler with Marriott which is not recognized at this property Rarely have I been more disappointed in a property as I am with the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. We have stayed at this property many times over the past 15 years - this is the first since covid. Overall, the property is still run down - but it has been for years. Currently they are doing some renos but fail to mention that on their site - or adjust rates to reflect the construction. This visit was the most we have ever paid to stay here and they did their best to get their profit. THEY ARE UNDER RENOVATION (Sept 2022) - Expect construction noise at 7:30 am. Also, they have removed their club lounge and do not offer any other alternative unless you push them on it. The senior management is obviously cutting costs everywhere. The resort fee is just a $25 increase in the nightly rate as they have severely limited their access to the recreation options - Water activities are ONLY available for 1 hour a day (9:30 weekdays and 10:30 weekends) That is it - you must pay extra outside of these times. Bikes are still available - so they say. The front desk staff are not very friendly and are only doing their job - that is it - do not expect anything more! We booked 2 rooms and both rooms were not what we booked - LaToya, the front end manager, did her best to get us into the right room - but I sensed that she is frustrated as well with their new policies. The rest of the staff is clearly frustrated with senior management’s policies and do not seem happy with their jobs these days. The view is still great - they cannot mess that up and that is getting them the 2 stars.
