I’ve stayed here a few times on business and I have to say this was my best! I have to give special thanks to two employees. The first one is Ashley H. in the restaurant. She went above and beyond to try and get my breakfast right. The chef didn’t do what was requested twice and that was to not cook my egg whites in oil. Both times were saturated in oil. Ashley H. went above and beyond. She is a true gem! The other employee is Karen in housekeeping. She left my room amazing each day with special touches like water, Hershey kisses and organizing my items in the bathroom. The special touches leave lasting memories. I travel each week on business and I’ll definitely be back because of these two employees. Thank you so much! Please see photos. The gym is also very nice! The check-in is on the 12th floor. Great location to the Gaslamp District. You can walk to great places. I recommend this hotel!

Fantastic location. All the local tourist sites are within walking distance. Parking was a snap. In 15 minutes we were able to walk to Balboa Park and catch the shuttle to the zoo. In 10 minutes, we walk over to Little Italy. or Gas Lamp district or Embacadoero

Just got back from a near perfect stay. This property caters towards families, and it shows- After booking at other Marriott properties including Autograph, AC, and other cat 5/6's, Pulse by far had the friendliest service. Thanks to Sarah at the front desk, Craig who was everywhere, and Madeline in the Kid's Club for their outstanding hospitality! Pros: +Near Gaslamp without "being in" the gaslamp +Less street noise from being so high up (hotel starts on floor 12) +Kids room and other bonuses like free game/dvd rentals, info sessions, tours, movie nights/etc are just what we needed for a family trip +The hotel and grounds are relatively new and fresh feeling, not old and creaky like some properties in the area +Decent, non-touristy food is available just a block away, including 7 cafe which is a great weekday spot Cons: -The AC/Fan in the rooms are LOUD- this wasn't a problem for me, but kept some of my family members awake Tips: Self parking is pricey but only a bit more compared to the lots nearby. We didn't mind the drive up the curved driveway but it's certainly not for everyone. You do get used to it after a go or two. With two toddlers, it wasn't worth the trouble to park off site. Stay here if you are mostly hitting the big sites in SD and don't absolutely need to be near gaslamp or the convention center. We cross shopped the Residence Inn, Embassy Suites, and others and don't regret our choice at all Parking entrance is easy to miss! Look up on google maps first so you know what to look for

We have just returned from a 7 day stay at this Marriott Hotel. This hotel is in the perfect location, and walking distance to the Gaslamp District. All staff members were very friendly, attentive and provided excellent services. The rooms are all suites which is great added benefit and as well as immaculate! They provided everything amenity you needed, including a microwave, refrigerate, sink, dishwasher, coffee maker, etc. The bathroom is roomy with 2 sinks and a large shower. The food and service at the restaurant Shake was excellent as well especially for a hotel. I would return!

I travel to San Diego once a year when it’s cold in NY to get away from the snow. This location was a few blocks from the Gaslamp district where I usually stay. There are a few restaurants in the hotel and around the hotel. The staff was pleasant and the suite I stayed in was extremely clean with a great view of the city.
