We're a family-owned and operated independent hotel in San Diego for three generations. We have seen many ups and downs, and we've always persevered thanks to the support of our loyal guests. We will be here for you when this storm passes. We're in a central location, in a commercial pocket – we joke that we are nowhere but right next door to everywhere. We have a wide selection of room types, including large apartments with kitchens.

Hotel's Favorite
We were searching for a hotel near the airport and found that the chain hotels charge for parking so decided to give the Old Town Inn a try. We were very pleased that we did. Stayed for 3 nights. We enjoyed free parking, free wifi, free breakfasts (pretty basic) and a comfortable, clean, quiet room with a big screen TV. Access to I-5 to get downtown was quick and easy (thanks to my GPS) and a short drive to the car rental facility at the airport. Hope to return one day.

Dear George M: Thank you for choosing the Old Town Inn San Diego and for sharing your experience with us on TripAdvisor! We're delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and our hotel's close proximity to the airport and the rest of San Diego. We are a small hotel with a single-minded dedication to consistent service, quality, and value. We put every effort into making sure our guests stay is the best it can be, and because our hotel is a small family run business, we can be a bit more informal than larger hotels are able to be, which I think results in a warmer/ friendlier experience for our guests. Thank you again for the positive comments regarding our clean spacious room, free breakfast, location as well as our warm customer service. We are a modest, 2-star rated hotel with a single-minded dedication to consistent service, quality, and value. On your next visit, book directly with us by going to our website or by calling the front desk, we have many room types that are not always available on our booking partner’s website. * Book Direct with Us - For the Best Service, Selection, and Value! * Yours in Hospitality, Mike | Front Desk Agent Old Town Inn Visit our Hotel Website or Call Us at (800) 643-3025

We have stayed here on all but one of our visits to San Diego (2001, 2004, 2008, 2011) and keep returning because we are happy with this place. The front desk staff were nice and helpful with directions and local information. There is a pool area with surrounding tables. The rooms are to a good standard with comfortable beds. A trip to the Zoo is a must in San Diego and when we stayed there were discount coupons available in the hotel. It is possible to easily get the light rail into town then a bus as we did on previous occasions but this time we drove and it's straightforward with free parking. You will need a full day (and some) to do it justice. Down town seemed to have changed a lot since our previous visit in 2011 with a lot of stores now closed and a significantly higher number of economic victims. The Old Town is nicer to stroll around and Midtown has some chain stores for clothes etc that are within walking distance of the motel. There are a few eateries on the main tourist drag but O'Hungrys was a good choice for reasonably priced beer and steak. Also a short stroll into Midtown was Modern Times brewpub which was excellent with a wide choice of nice beers.

Just got back from an overnight staycation at the Old Town Inn. We got a great deal on the Jacuzzi Suite, probably the lowest cost jacuzzi room in the city while maintaining quality standards. The room was very comfortable, spacious yet quaint. Everything was extremely clean. The fireplace is a nice added touch, everything had clear operating instructions and it well was laid out in proper view. Only downside to this room is the wifi was incredibly slow. I brought some media devices and the internet was not fast enough to stream YouTube. It was a minor inconvenience. The location of the room is all the way in the corner of the hotel, it was nice not having to deal with neighbors all around, they did a great job making it as private as possible. Overall I would go again. Thanks for the stay.
