Relieved to find a good hotel, with great staff, clean, wonderful people. Our room had the best shower of our lives, with great jets, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel on the wall. We went from the Bates Motel to Marriott swank, first class. We stayed four nights, and loved the pool, free laundry facilities, the restaurant and bar. Like my grandson said. "This has been the best hotel of my life" He's 11 :)
Very rude staff at check in, my room was clean and comfortable other than the tv did not work. Called the front desk and the same guy offered no help to get it fixed. The thermostat also was very difficult to get to come on and off which they had not interest in helping or moving me to another room.
We stayed here 3 years ago and we were happy to see the newly renovated rooms. Carla and Ismael at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Carolina , at the omelette station always has a smile! Jennifer at the coffee bar was very friendly and welcoming .My only criticism is that the restaurant was not very clean, the floors, chairs, etc had to be wiped down each time…by us. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay and will probably return since family is nearby.
The service was top notch. The hotel had a 1 hour free late checkout, AND A $10/hour charge up to 4 pm. This was fabulous as VA appointments can take a long time. This would be a 5 star if not for minamalist modern furniture - only place to hang clothes was in bathroom. Bed was great. Restaurant was nice. Overall super venue with outside seats and fire pits.
I had a great stay, the complimentary breakfast was amazing. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially a gentleman by the name of JC. I was a bit confused on the process and he kindly explained it in full detail. Definitely try their breakfast sandwich!
Very spacious room and great water pressure in the shower. Bed was wonderful! Parking is extremely expensive and should be included with the high room rate already. Nice lobby area and kind front desk staff. We were often slow to receive extra housekeeping items we requested; they do not offer daily housekeeping service, only every third day.
Fraudulent billing. After completing a week long stay I noticed false charges from the hotel restaurant. I was told by Isiah that "accidents happen" and the accounting team should be able to resolve this in about a week if these are not my charges. Last stay at a Marriott in San Diego two months ago I was also charged for my stay 4 times and the hotel accounting team was "unable" to resolve the issue and required me to contact my credit card company and wait about 2 weeks to get the funds returned. If this is what Gold Elite membership gets you, I just don't know.
Stayed for one night on my 1st night in San Diego! I enjoyed the hotel a lot it was very quiet, had amazing views, and I also liked how the hotel was renovated as well! There's nearby shopping if you take the trolley which is very convenient to navigate! Breakfast in the morning was a breeze we enjoyed the buffet they had. We'll be coming back Here next time.
We are Marriott loyalist and were very happy with our stay here. First rate operation. To be fair, our impressions are based on Bonvoy Titanium status (freebies) which may bring out the best in the place. Highlights: - Extremely friendly and service oriented staff throughout--front desk, DEN restaurant, housekeeping. - Modern (remodeled) rooms. Exceptionally clean. - Daily housekeeping without asking! - Very nice public spaces, including the pool area. Something of a resort oasis in the urban area of Mission Valley. - A very convenient location. 5-20 minutes to everywhere. So very possible to stay here, have dinner at any of the tourist places, and be back quickly. A significant cost savings over downtown. (There are also lots of breweries about 5-7 minutes away). Other notes: - The only pre-COVID amenity not functioning is the "M Lounge" is not open. That said, status members are offered a free breakfast buffet daily (otherwise $22/pp) in the DEN restaurant. The staff at breakfast is particularly friendly and accommodating. - Modest upgrade from a "city view" to "pool view" for the stay. Was appreciated. There appeared to be a suite on the top floor, yet not sure how many floors may have one/what the quantity of potential suite upgrade rooms might be. - 2 of 3 elevators in service. For much of our stay, occupancy was fairly low, so didn't much matter. On the couple peak days (a convention arrived) not having the third elevator became a minor nuisance. - Plenty of parking (has a garage). Could debate the separate parking charge, yet appeared the norm in Mission Valley and hotel is transparent about it. There is some street parking and office parks nearby if one truly objects. Very happy with our stay and unequivocally recommended as a very nice place to stay in San Diego.…
Stayed here one night. Rooms were clean and had all the usual stuff. Expected a bit more from the high price, but felt safe here. Great location and front desk people are nice. Lots to do in San Diego and they helped me with picking some fun things to do
