Convenient to the heart of downtown San Diego and its many bayside attractions. We splurged on a room for the night of July Fourth, because we had tickets to view fireworks from the USS Midway. It was a great decision. We had guaranteed parking ($50!) and did not have to fight the horrendous traffic after the fireworks show. Fourth of July fireworks on San Diego Bay is a huge deal- Nine fireworks barges in the bay, and approximately a half million spectators from National City all the way around the bay shore to Coronado. So managing the experience to make it fun and not a headache is something to consider. We were able to check in at 4 pm, have a leisurely dinner at New York West, a very nice casual restaurant in the hotel, walk over to the Midway with our lawn chairs after the the opening time crowds had dissipated, and just enjoy ourselves and the spectacular fireworks thoroughly. The hotel was obviously on red alert to manage the crowds with tact and diplomacy, All was in order as you expect at an Embassy Suites property. We used the pull out couch, it worked well and was comfortable. Appreciated the suite set up, two tvs, some apace for three adults to spread out. We would definitely go this route again.

Hotel's Favorite
Just finished a weekend stay in San Diego and this hotel did not disappoint ... again. In truth it was our third stay here over a 6-7 year period but the service in this hotel has remained stellar! Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and an extra sink/counter space outside the bathroom that lets me get ready while my husband showers! Also because the rooms are all suites there are 2 TV’s, one in the living area and the other in the separate bedroom. The breakfast in the morning is excellent with a great selection of food plus a cooked to order omelette station. Every evening there is a manager’s reception with an assortment of snacks (changes nightly but included tortilla soup one night and a shepherds pie on another evening) and complimentary alcoholic beverages (even a house made margarita and rum punch)! The hotel is across the street from restaurants, several attractions (Midway and Seawall Village) and is walking distance to the convention center and Gas Lamp district! I can’t comment on the pool or workout room as both were under construction. This hotel is a great value snd I will fe babk!!

This review is all about a employee at this location named Sandra, who was covering for the reservation desk. I booked a room for my boss, though a travel agent who, unknown to me, used Expedia to book the reservation. When I had to make some changes to the reservation, the call center at Embassy Suites reservation line informed me I had to call Expedia and they would not help me. I called the travel agent, they told me I had to call Expedia to make changes (mind you the travel agent never informed me they used Expedia, nor did they have that information on my confirmation. I called the Embassy Suites Sand Diego Bay's front desk and Sandra helped me with a guest name change and adding an additional night (which required a new reservation). She stayed on the phone with me beginning to end, directed me to the best deal on the company website. Took my new confirmation and noted that the old and new reservation should be "linked" so that my boss has no issues with changing rooms or two separate reservations. She also changed the lead name on the reservation for me (the travel agent only added the name change to "notes". Sandra Saved The Day! I was so stressed out for over a week trying to fix this reservation. Thank You Sandra!!

My husband and I arrived at the Embassy Suites he for a conference and myself for a vacation we were happily greeted at the desk promptly after arriving and were quickly able to check in to our room prior to the noted check in time. We were very pleased with our room and were lucky enough to get a balcony room. As with other stays we have had at the Embassy the experience is always pleasant no surprises. The rooms are always wonderful and clean the breakfast and happy hour always excellent. We wanted to call out Iniego who was such a pleasure to speak with. It seemed like he was always there mornings and evenings and always smiling and making sure our needs were met. The breakfast staff, bartenders, front desk staff and cleaning crew were exceptional. Thank you for always providing a consistently great traveling experience.

I have stayed at this location a few times before and I really like it. Its walking distance to mostly everything, which is a good thing since most place downtown charge for parking and and its hard to find parking in general. As with all the other Embassy there is a nightly happy hour, and great breakfast next morning. Rooms are nice, and if you have kids this is a must since a suite has two rooms .
