1 night stay was to celebrate our birthdays. It was also during the time we had a long heat wave. Our air conditioner in our room was broken and did not put cold air out. A technician came up the next morning and verified that it was broken. I later called the manager to notify the hotel and she said it was broken and being replaced. It was very hot in the room and we couldn’t sleep all night. 11/29 visit a loud motor sound going off and on behind our bathroom wall. Again couldn’t sleep all night. It was also a special night to be celebrating but we couldn’t sleep. Had to put on A/C and music on to help drown out the motor noise.
We came into San Diego to visit my son in the military for Thanksgiving. We had rented an AirBnB and found that is was far from our expectations. A search of options brought us to the Bay Club Hotel and Marina. We could not have been happier! The price was very reasonable and the accommodations were exactly what we were looking for - together with privacy (we opted for a suite). I could literally feel the stress disappear sitting on the lovely deck overlooking the marina. Staff were very helpful and friendly. It is a little a bit older, but kept well and clean. Meals were all quite good (including a Thanksgiving dinner). Location was perfect for our activity packed long weekend. Plenty to do within walking distance. We will definitely return!
I recently stayed at the Bay Club for a little weekend getaway from the grind. Their staff was top notch! Everyone I spoke with at the front desk was courteous, friendly, and helpful! Allie went above and beyond the call of duty on both days to answer my questions and assist me on my way! I have friends in San Diego, and asked them to join me on the Bay Club patio for Happy Hour. The drinks were fantastic, and reasonably priced. All the food food was yummy, and our server Ryan was outstanding! He always seemed to be around when we needed something, without hovering. The place looks great, the new carpeting adds a nice touch! The location is fantastic, right across the street from Mission Bay! Hint: It's worthwhile to join The Commodore Club! I can't wait to go back, I just booked 3 days near the end of January. For me it's worth it to get a room with a balcony. Going out on the balcony in the morning with the sea breeze and the clean air is invigorating! It really makes the stress melt away!…
We enjoyed our 3-day stay at the Bay Club Hotel in a lovely room with a balcony view of the marina and Point Loma. Our accommodations were highly satisfactory for a very reasonable price. The hotel & restaurant were immaculately clean and extensive COVID-19 precautions and procedures were being followed, which reassured us that we were staying in a safe environment. All staff members were exceeding friendly & helpful, and everyone we came into contact with were in compliance with C-19 protocol. We enjoyed four meals at the Quarterdeck restaurant, all of which were delicious and well-presented. Daily parking is only $15 and, unlike other nearby hotels, there are no extra resort amenities fees. The hotel is centrally located on beautiful Shelter Island at the San Diego harbor and nearby downtown. We highly recommend this hotel and we intend to stay there again in the near future while visiting our family.…
I was really excited to come to San Diego for a little get away from Los Angeles. I got on the app Hotels Tonight and saw that they had a room for Sunday 11/8 for $80.00 - so I purchased the room. I then noticed that the rate that was charged to my card was a total of $98.00 and $15.00 for "additional" services. I called Hotels Tonight and they confirmed that the extra was for resort fee, taxes and also included the $15.00 parking fee. The total was now $113.00. (so, my $80 room was now $113) Ok...I accepted it. Soo...on Sunday 11/8 when I arrived to check in at 4pm - The hotel felt like it was deserted. There were literally no cars in the parking lot and no one in the lobby but me. I was told that the room I was supposed to have was on the front parking lot side and closest to the street. The girl checking me in had a list of all of the available rooms and she told me that I could upgrade my room to a bay view room for an additional $25.00 or upstairs for $45.00 upgrade fee. I agreed to take the $25.00 rate for the upgrade. I was then told by a supervisor named Eric at the desk that there was an additional $15 parking fee. I told him that I had paid the $15 when I booked my the hotel and that Hotels Tonight had confirmed that with me. He went to make a phone call to Hotels tonight. He then came back and told me that no - the parking fee was not included. I asked him if could please honor the fact that I had been told the parking was indeed included when I purchased he room. He said NO he could not. Mind you - It was a cold and rainy day - and the woman at the desk proceeded to tell me I could park across the street for free. I told them - no - the parking had already been included - I asked for a manager and Eric told me he was the supervisor on staff that day. I then went outside to call Hotels Tonight - and while I was on the phone with them - they told me they could call the hotel and discuss the situation. The Hotels Tonight representative also told me that this hotel was actually getting ready to shut down the coming week due to the City going "purple" due to Covid-19. So, to me - They should have been grateful for any business at all. In a nutshell, while on the phone with Hotels Tonight - I decided I did NOT want to give this hotel my business. I decided not to stay there. The supervisor Eric was extremely rude and would not budge on simply providing me with the parking. When it was obvious the hotel was wide open and there was an abundance of parking. At this point, It was not about the money. It was the principle. I was willing to pay the hotel an extra $25 fee to upgrade my room (which most other hotels would have done for no charge if the space permitted) - however, I was NOT willing to pay the parking fee twice. Whatever happened to customer service? making the customer feel as if you mattered to their business? I have never been treated as if my business simply did NOT matter to them at all. I called after I left to tell Eric that he is basically the reason that I chose not to stay there. You would think that he would have had the consideration to apologize or try and rectify the situation - but he continued to be rude. I asked him for his last name and he also refused to give it to me. I usually don't ever complain - but this hotel had the absolute WORST customer service and was the most UNPROFESSIONAL front desk I EVER experienced in my life. I will NEVER recommend this hotel - and I will go back to staying at The Kona Kai Club or Humphreys as I normally do when in San Diego -- Just thought I'd give this hotel a shot this trip. NEVER AGAIN.…
