Last minute trip to San Diego, Golf and Padres game. The rooms and bathrooms are well maintained. The one must is to visit Currant Restaurant attached to the Hotel. The beignets are amazing, we had them with the maple bacon pecan sauce, there are 3 other sauces to choose from. Walk to Gaslamp and Petco Park are doable.

It was quiet, comfortable and did the job for convention accommodation. Physical plant getting tired around the edges. The surprise "heritage" tax notice on check-in seems like a scam after prepayment of room....not much choice in the matter by then! (Should be built into room fees). Breakfast in currant was sub par (skillet too heavy on frozen prepared potatoes &...

Excellent location. Easy walking distance from top restaurants and bars. Small rooms but tastefully decorated. Excellent guest service by all. Ryan the outside valet was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

My daughter booked this hotel for my husband and I and our 3 adult children for a business conference. The hotel is a boutique hotel about 12 blocks from the convention center and 3 blocks from the beginning of the Gas Lamp area. This hotel was built in the 1920's and obviously recently renovated. It was decorated cute as most...

My husband and I came to San Diego for a 3 night stay in April 2017. We found the Sophia Hotel on a third party booking site for a steal and decided to give it a try. We were blown away. The rooms are small but are so well appointed that we did not mind. There is plenty of room...

A nice little hotel, but it was ruined for us by the continuous stream of Fox News in the lobby. We complained to the front staff and were told that they had had other complaints, but they were not allowed to change or turn it off. This was from the management. I found it extremely offensive and would not stay...

We have stayed at The Sofia a number of times and raved about it. This time it was missing little details that have made previous stays so enjoyable. On the plus - great location. Yes the rooms aren't large but they are complete for travellers who are there to enjoy all the sights of the city and using the room...

I absolutely loved this hotel! Besides being a great location downtown near shopping, restaurants and entertainment, it was great in every way! The room was clean and quaint and pretty sound proof. It had great blackout curtains for good sleeping! The bed was comfortable, the service was great and the restaurant that was attached was good too! I would definitely...

I come to San Diego on business about 6 times a year and I always stay at this hotel. I like the small boutique feel, the decor is modern and comfortable. Because it is a smaller hotel the service is very personalized. I have stayed on just about every floor and every room I get has a comfortable bed. This...

I stayed at the Sofia while attending a conference at the SD Convention Center. The hotel is charming with excellent service. The room was very small, but with an efficient layout, lots of storage and a very comfortable bed. There is still room for an armchair and a desk. Two bottles of water per day are included, and there is...
