This was a satisfying stay at Hotel Solamar. I arrived early after flying for 5+ hours and the front desk was able to have me check-in before 10am. She noted my room preferences and confirmed them with me before checking me in... this detail set the tone and standard of my stay, which was terrific! The valet/doormen hustle and are...

I loved this hotel. The dimly lit, trendy yet comfortable entrance is welcoming, as are the staff. Very comfortable rooms; extremely helpful staff (especially Rick on the valet desk), and anywhere that offers free wine during 5-6pm each day to residents is fine by me!! The rooms were lovely and the bed was fantastic. It was also nice to be...

We stayed there for one night recently but wished we had booked two. We booked through the hotel directly which I prefer to do. Let me say first besides the fact that this hotel is esthetically beautiful the staff are the BEST I have ever encountered. I wanted to give a huge shout out to Katie who was my first...

From the moment we pulled into the valet parking we were greeted by the friendly and outgoing staff. From the bell boys to the concierge, every single staff member did their best to help my large group of friends and accommodate us during our weekend vacation. The overall atmosphere is so hip, chic and relaxing. This hotel is pet friendly...

We were pleased with the hotel and hotel room, we had a room overlooking pool area and very little noise at night even though pool bar area was at times quite busy. The room was comfortable with everything to hand such as hairdryer, iron, ironing board etc. Free tea and coffee were available in reception from 6.30am each morning and...

On reaching the hotel, I was a bit underwhelmed by it, the outside looked so dull and uninteresting but what a surprise awaited inside. The room was a treat, the staff sooo friendly, nothing too much trouble, really clean hotel, ideal location just a block from the teeming 5th avenue but far enough away that you don't hear the noise.Definitely...

The Hotel Solamar is the best hotel I have ever stayed in – and you need to book there as soon as you can! The property is beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable! The best part – hand down – is the staff! From my new friends at the front desk, to the basketball-playing-knowledge-dispensing bell staff, I could not have had...

Very good hotel - large, comfortable room with good bedding and an excellent soaking tub. Good view overlooking Petco Park, great access to the Gaslight attractions. Attentive staff and nice facility details. Never happy about spending $40 a night for valet parking though.

My wife and I stayed at the Solamar this past weekend. The hotel property is very nice and it's location is super. Right near Petco and the Gaslamp district. But, it was the most noisy, party like, atmosphere I have experienced in many years. The last time I recall that type of exuberance was when I stayed at the Palms...

My travel companions and I decided to stay somewhere different on this trip to San Diego, so we chose the Solamar Hotel in the Gaslamp District. It turned out to be a great choice. This is a nice, small boutique hotel owned by the Kimpton chain. It's decorated in a dark wood, subdued lighting type of style. I think their...
