Trying to find good accommodation in San Diego in July is tough. But just venture outside the gas lamps area towards the gay village of Hillcrest and you will find gems of places to stay such as Studio 819 Aparthotel. This place would be OK if it wasn't for the horrible service. I booked a room for 1 month, but when I arrived, there was construction right next to my window. Booked this hotel to be near relatives. Room small but adequate. Had a west facing room away from the freeway noise, but as they are carrying out building work next door, dont expect to sleep after 08.00. Studio 819 is an unassuming "residential hotel" in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego. Most of the rooms are occupied by permanent (or long term) residents, but they have a few rooms that are available by the day, week or month.
