The hotel's prime location offers proximity to attractions and dining, while maintaining a quiet ambiance. Architecturally impressive, beautiful conference and hotel campus on Hotel Circle. The king room on the 5th floor was spacious and well appointed (even-numbered rooms on the right side of the corridor are bigger then left side), staff is very friendly, the restaurant and bar are great. High quality, noise abating sliding glass doors to big balconies, ample, yet expensive parking ($35/night, yikes). A hotel with a memorable a/c scenting system, it smells great everywhere!

We expected lots from Legacy based on the price and it was OK. Hotel looked new, which helped - and the rooms were fairly spacious and comfortable. Bathroom and shower were nice, and I took the girls for a quick dip in the pool which was heated a little (although it was a bit cold as the weather wasn’t the warmest and was in the shade!).
The safe and coffee machine were both broken in the room. We let reception know this, but they were never fixed, nor communicated to us after this (to be fair, when we let them know they did say we could get a coffee from the restaurant, but it’s not the same as being able to have one when you wake up).
The hotel location was good for getting to all the tourist sites and parking was easy (although $25 a night for a non-city centre location seemed a little pricey).
All in all, not a bad stay, but was expecting a little more ‘wow’ for the price.

I anticipated much more than was delivered, and this disappointment began before we even arrived. Despite numerous requests for a confirmation e-mail, one was never received. At every request we were told that it takes 48-72 hours to get an email. Did not realise we were in 1992. The email also was not in the junk folder as they insisted, blaming us for not checking. On arrival we were placed in a room with two double beds, despite booking a single king bed. They insisted we booked a double full, which as a couple, we never have done. But of course, with the missing email, we could not prove it. This was an and bait and switch. After some effort we were finally given the correct room. This hotel lacks the amenities expected at the price point, and experienced at less expensive hotels. This includes bathroom amenities such as tissue paper, hand lotion, small items like q-tips. We had to request a second roll of toilet paper. And there is no ice machine on any floor, only available on request. Also, no coffee in the lobby in the mornings. Staff was just moderately warm. It is also not so conveniently located to the main tourist attractions as appears on the map. If you are visiting San Diego as a tourist, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The room was clean, and housekeeping did a good job

Nice stay for a couple of days. Went for a Christian Conference. Some weird things like there being a hole in the wall for a missing vent cover (they replaced the cover when notified) and blankets with the tag facing the pillow to scratch my face (also remedied) were a turn off. However the outdoor hot tub was larger than I am used to, with a 30min timer for bubbling. Pool was a good size too with enough seating. The lobby was spacious, has a slightly higher end feel. I like that the toilet is separate from the shower so two unrelated people can use the bathroom at the same time. Housekeeping cleans everyday, may forget to stock the coffee section. A tiny fridge in the room. Only one sink in the bathroom, no ice machines in the halls and no microwave in the rooms.

The microwave part was an issue. There is a microwave in the lobby but my last night it had no plastic plates or utensils that they supply in the day time. I told the front desk guy Daniel. He said “oh I don’t have that stuff.” After asking if he was going to look for plates or utensils. He replied I don’t have that. Can you check the restaurant for them? He replied the restaurant is closed. He made zero effort to problem solve. I walked to the still staffed restaurant (there was a party they hosted in their conference) and they helped immediately. I corrected Daniel hoping he was new but to be honest I think it was discrimination. I’ve traveled for years and never met a front desk staff member with dead eyes, literally refuse to pick up a phone or move a muscle for customer satisfaction.
Therefore at best its an ok resort.

Daniel is a nightmare. While the property and location are fantastic, the front desk manager, Daniel, made my stay extremely uncomfortable. This egomaniac and massive liability gave me an ultimatum to stay in an unkept room or be refunded for my two additional reserved days. Despite my clear response about not having any items in the room, he insisted on sending security to retrieve nonexistent belongings.

He also demanded my expired key cards, refusing to let me leave until they were returned, displaying unprofessional and creepy behavior, especially in front of his female colleagues. These two ladies were polite and professional, and they should be in charge instead. This unsettling experience compelled me to write this review, hoping the hotel owners realize who this individual really is.

Stayed here twice in October. Only about half of the staff in the front desk are competent at checking in and checking people out.

Our first stay we were incorrectly charged by the person checking us in. Our 1 week stay incurred almost $600 extra charges because the correct rates were not applied. I called front desk after a few days to notify them and was assured that it was going to be fixed, and it wasn’t. When we checked out the person said, the person that checked you in is new. We were suppose to have credits applied, she did know how to do that.
Room was fine, some floor stains but housekeeping was polite.

Our most recent stay, the room was charged correctly but when we checked out, the person checking us out also did not know how to apply credits.

These credits are for the restaurant and spa. The packages are offered through their actual website! It’s annoying that their staff does know how to apply it.

Wifi also sucks on the first floor. The second floor wifi is fine.

Room service sucks. The food was burned or inaccurate.

Had breakfast at their restaurant twice. Ordered pancakes both times, the first time I was charged $14 as an open item. The second time, I was charged pancakes as the official item and was charged $12.

Overall, it just seems as if training is lacking at this hotel. Poor management that lacks experience. It’s awful because this hotel is probably the nicest at Hotel Circle. It smells amazing inside and reminds you of an upscale hotel but poor training will quickly deteriorate this place.

From the time I arrived until the time I left, my experience and my stay was great. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel was pretty full when I checked in so I was upgraded to a room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was so beautiful. Also any amenities you need are available at request through your tv. Towels, coffee, air freshener, etc. Also the phone gives a perfect visual of the hotel and what’s around. I ordered room service and although the taste of breakfast wasn’t worth the price, I didn’t mind it because I was on vacation. In my honest opinion, unless you have to drive far out to see family, friends and attractions that aren’t close. I would recommend not getting a rental car and just taking an Uber/Lyft, that way you can avoid the $25 daily parking fee. The hotel is pretty convenient to most attractions. Lastly, even though I was told the hotel was full, it was so quiet, it was like walking through a library. The pool and Jacuzzi were so relaxing. There was never more than 4 people at a time. Overall I enjoyed my stay and I will be staying again.

Me and my family recently stayed at the Hotel Legacy Resort and Spa for my wedding. Unfortunately, we had a terribly poor customer service experience. We did not receive any room service during the duration of our first three days there. On the fourth day, we requested room service after crossing paths with housekeeping in the hallway. The wired headphones we left on the nightstand were now on the floor and most of the wired parts were missing - it looked like it had been chewed through by a vacuum cleaner. Accidents happen, but management’s inability to respond to this situation was the reason of this bad review. We immediately brought the broken headphones to the front desk, who reassured us he would compensate us for them and call us back, of course that never happened. Upon check out the next day, we again brought this up to a different front desk agent, who also said she would notify housekeeping and ensure we were compensated. It has been a week and no call, no compensation. We are severely disappointed as we had spent a lot of money for many family members to stay half a week at the hotel. Further, a senior member tripped on the parking lot curb and sprained her ankle, and I asked to file an incident report, and I was also not notified of any follow up.

Spent a long weekend with our family while celebrating a birthday for our son. Front desk service was amazing, particularly from Thomas. We needed some wine glasses and he had them brought to our room promptly, even asked if we needed a wine opener. When we had an issue with the electronic lock on the door the staff had it fixed quickly. Hotel location was ideal for us; only 10 or 15 minutes to places we visited. Property is nearly new and beautifully maintained. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We will definitely stay here again when we return to San Diego.
