I had room 215 on the water. The stairs lead straight to the room and when you opened up it was allllll ocean; it was perfect. The space is most excellent for one or two people. The king bed is ample with 4 pillows and when you look left its allll ocean! You are on top of the people exercising below and nobody knows, you are all alone in your sky space; its great. The room has a nice little fridge and a TV, 2 lamps, a little table/desk and a safe on a little storage area, there is no closet. The bathroom is new and you can see the ocean from the shower and toilet! The stairs to the beach are almost in front of this room. IMO this and the adjacent room (do not know the #) would be best at this location as they have direct beach views from the beds. The price was more economical on THEIR website than others. Clean space, no sand anyplace. People are exercising and enjoying the beach at this location below the room; there was NOT excessive noise or smells of any kind in my room (as mentioned in another review)

I parked on Mission for two days with no problem but there is parking around; just wait (its true.) Surfers are coming and going all of the time.

The guy at check in was super nice when I checked in and out too! Uber to Old Town was $15. Walk everywhere- perfect place!

The hotel was located across Pacific Beach and walking distance to many restaurants. However the hotel has no swimming pool, the rooms are very small with no closets, and sand was everywhere. Very expensive for what you get. The front desk personnel were very friendly and provided quick service for requests for towels.

Awesome place to stay for young couples who want to surf or shop. Easy access to the beach, stores, and pier. Service is great. Luis was very quick and polite. Free surfboards and folding chairs (to borrow). NOTE: Ask for parking ; it's in short supply. There's paid parking, but if you're patient, there's free parking right outside.

When I say, bare minimum, that’s being nice. Website claims to have “countless amenities” except I can count them - zero. When I called the front desk to ask what these countless amenities are, I was told a refrigerator, screen tv and a microwave which is located in the lobby, along with a hairdryer and iron. This place is equivalent to a hostel except it does have its own bathroom in each room.

We paid $20 a night for an “upgrade” after spending nearly $1000 for 2 night stay. The upgrade includes a window in which you can’t open that looks onto the ocean and a cafe table with 2 lawn chairs.

Be aware: beach access from hotel is down the path which is about a 3 minute walk. Basic amenities are located in the lobby which closes at 10pm and opens at 8am. No phone in the room and no 24 hour service of any kind. None of the rooms have a private terrace. They are all shared if they do claim to have a terrace.

My pillow in my upgraded room was upgraded to include a hair and make up marks on it. Clearly dirty but it was after 10pm so I was stuck hoping the pillow just happened to be the only part of my bed not washed.

Rat traps located outside the hotel which is good that they’re taking care of that problem. Just too bad they couldn’t put down any traps for the people ferociously digging through the dumpster by our first room before we were “upgraded”.

I would say stay at a local resort, perhaps the Catamaran if you’re going to spend this kind of money on a place to stay in this area.

We love the Pacific View Inn and have been coming here for 20+ years! It's such a treat they are now Freshly Remodeled! Rooms are Upgraded with Huge Tile Showers, Laminate Wood Floors, Cute Barn Doors, TV's, Mini Fridge, Couch, Desk, Safe for your Valuables, I mean it has it ALL!!! They Updated the Exterior as well with a New Modern Look. Feet from the Ocean with Unparalleled Views. Prices are so Reasonable we sometimes extend our Vacation. SERIOUSLY Ask for Neil or Luis they know all the best places to eat or can give you pointers on what to do while in San Diego with the Family!! Everything you need is within walking distance: shops, food, grocery store, entertainment this is the BEST spot to easily get to it ALL!

Not a whole lot of negative I’ve got to say about this place. The staff was wonderful and friendly. The rooms perfect for the two of us. They are not fancy, but recently remodeled. The bathroom has only the complaint that the showers are skinny. Not small…skinny. They need about 3-4 more inches of width and a longer shower curtain. There’s a mini fridge an satellite tv. The a/c works well, the beds are clean and mostly comfy. The curtains need to be rethought as the pull down shade allows a LOT of light in from the porch lights. They do not offer daily house cleaning, so if you have littles or Sandy floors bother you, be prepared to ask for them to visit your room or to pick up after yourself. The entire hotel is just a 15 second walk to the beach literally. We were in one of the further back rooms and we are still so close to the beach and beach walk. It’s a great place on the beach for a great price! Would never have gotten the service at a larger place like we did here.

Would absolutely come back again!

When we arrived the shower had sand in it, the room was 85 degrees, AC barely worked, no fitted sheet on the bed, and no towel hook for wet towels. Shortly after check out my toddler son needed to use the restroom, and we were told to go use the public beach bathroom. Nice location but we will never come back.

This was my first stay with pacific view and it was amazing! Cute property, modern look and feel inside the rooms. Stayed on the second floor with an unbelievable view of the ocean! Parking can be a little steep, but they only have 5 spots available and there's lots of nearby street parking (free). Luis made checking in a breeze and recommended some great places to eat nearby. Kudos, Luis!
I definitely will be back to stay again!

What a great place to stay RIGHT ON BEACH! Clean rooms, friendly staff. Walking to everything you need. We would love to go back! We arrived late- it was dark. Woke up to the most beautiful view. Strolled along the beach and got coffee at a cute little shack down the way. They also had to go breakfast. Stopped by some of the shops along the beach. We were in walking distance to food that evening and to CVS the next days for water and snacks for our room. Lots of college kids. Many homeless also on the beach it was sad, but no one was begging. The beach bonfires were neat to see at night. We felt safe! We Uber to enterprise and rented a car and drove around and saw the area. Loved sunset on the beach near Torrey Pines golf course. We ended up paying the $30 to park when we got back as all the spots were filled that were free. Beds were comfortable. front desk had a blow dryer. We stayed in 201! It’s the tip right room facing the ocean. Not used to the marijuana smell (that’s why we left Vegas) but it wasn’t as bad there as Vegas! We drove back to Vegas after two days to catch our flight back to MN. What a nice drive that was too!

Ok so I will start off with acknowledging I happen to be the “guest of the day” so we were given a free upgrade. The fact that they do that is amazing. We ended up in a beautiful corner unit that faced the ocean and it was the best! For the price of this Inn to be able to go to sleep to the ocean and wake up and be steps from the beach it is a really good deal and will absolutely be the reason we stay here again. It’s very central to everything, steps from the beach and has decent parking on the street. Additionally they do have limited spots that can give some peace of mind if you don’t want to deal with street parking. We are beyond grateful for finding this place and taking a chance on an Inn. It’s simple, clean and a real gem. We will 100% be staying here and would highly recommend staying here. In fact I already sent this place to two friends for their future travels to San Diego !

Lastly but most importantly I want to give a huge acknowledgment to all the wonderful staff we came in contact with during our stay. We were checked in by Alice and Leslie and checked out by Yoli and Leilani and they were all so sweet and very helpful.

Looking forward to staying here again
-@Eric.x.Elisa

What time is check in and check out?
Answer from Neil W.
San Diego, California
Good question! These are not private balconies and not all of our rooms have the balcony as pictured. If you reserve an "Ocean View" or "Sunset Queen" room we would be happy to lock in a balcony location for you. I hope that you could find this helpful, We'd also be happy to explain in more detail over the phone at (858) 483-6117. -Neil
