Hotel's Favorite
I organized a company offsite of 14 attendees to stay at this hotel. We also rented their Nautilus room to host our daily work sessions. Jose and Pisey were very accommodative in organizing our booking and arrangement in advance and throughout the stay. The hotel is in a great location within the Gaslamp quarter with plenty of restaurants, bars, and even a large grocery store nearby - so very convenient. The hotel was very clean and has a great rooftop bar located on the ninth floor which was pretty lively at night with a view of the baseball stadium nearby. The Nautilus room along with the adjacent terrace was a perfect location for our group size to get work done, allowing for both an inside and outside work environment. The breakfast and lunch work catering we had was just decent but their Middle Eastern lunch buffet was interestingly a favorite among our group - very tasty! Would recommend a stay here.

My daughter and I stayed for four nights. The location was ideal and super convenient to walk to great restaurants and shops. We had a view of the field which was a unique perk. The room was comfortable and spacious. Because we didn't leave the room until after lunch - getting housekeeping was sometimes tricky. At check-in Ben was so welcoming and kind. Another great smiling face at the front desk was Jacqueline, she was always so helpful and professional. We also appreciated the "hellos" and welcome back" each and every time we left the hotel. Mikayla and Isaiah always went above and beyond with making genuine connections with the guests. We really appreciated their kindness.

Stayed two nights to watch baseball. Check in was easy and the staff was very nice. Paid in advance for the stay and overnight parking. Nice view and location w lots of restaurants and a rooftop bar. The day we left 8/26 there was a lot of noise in the room next door at 9am and we were running a little behind the 11 am check out. 11:15 to be exact. That's when you expect a phone call maybe or a light knock and "housekeeping" at the door. No. We were greeted w a POUNDING on the door. I was in the shower and quickly ended it to find my gf w a frightened look on her face and then another POUNDING. I yelled out 15 minutes and went back to getting packed. Unbelievably maybe 10 minutes later another POUNDING on the door! Are you serious? Now im mad and charge the door pulling on pants and opened the door into the hall to hear another one slam...i had not even seen housekeeping in our stay although i certainly heard them so i have no idea why this fool was so out of line. On check out i was offered one night of parking for the inconvenience. I can't believe a hotel charging these prices would employ such an imbecile but i was also insulted by the response. They asked if i saw him and of course i hadn't since he apparently ran. The front desk seemed to know who it was but that was it. I mean, how many male housekeepers are working the 9th floor that morning? As thin as those walls are was this freak listening from another room? Totally bizarre. I'd suggest staying elsewhere because something for certain is wrong.

Recently stayed two nights while in the area to attend a Padres game. Location can't be beat for the close proximity to Petco and the availability of restaurants and brew pubs nearby if walking, which we did since we did not have a car. Room was a king on the 7th floor, the view was of the condo complex behind, but it was at the end of the hallway, very quiet. Not sure why they have continued to cease housekeeping service, but we did receive clean towels on the second day. Trash was not emptied and the containers are very small, so they fill quickly. The hotel itself is well staffed and the lobby area pleasant looking, however, the front door opens and closes constantly with the flow of people in and out, leaving the lobby very warm in the afternoons. We did not use the restaurant. Now for the negative. The staff wears masks and there are sanitizers available, but I only observed maybe five guests wearing masks and forget about social distancing. It is either not encouraged or enforced. Can't understand why with the high virus counts in San Diego County. The Sky Bar on the 9th floor might have been a nice spot for a drink, if only someone waited on us. Sat for about 15 minutes, no one came over to greet us or ask if we wanted to order a drink. It was like we were invisible. Their loss, we left and went to an establishment down the street.
