The Hotel Indigo San Diego-Gaslamp Quarter garners praise for its prime location close to downtown hotspots and its consistently clean premises, including spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Guests appreciate the hotel's inviting atmosphere and comfortable, plush beds, though some have encountered issues with construction noise and cleanliness in rooms. The service at the hotel often receives commendations for staff friendliness and efficiency, although there have been occasional slow service reports. While the breakfast and views are highlighted positively, the value is questioned due to high fees for amenities and other charges.

The front desk staff were exceptional. Especially all of my interactions with Harmony. That is a wonderful human right there. They remembered my name and greeted me every time I entered the lobby even when I wasn’t looking for service.
Great food at the restaurant. Lovely decor. It’s everything you could want from a boutique hotel.
I have stayed and hosted events at a Kimpton in downtown Seattle years ago with a similar personable experience. Highly recommend these properties.

I organized a company offsite of 14 attendees to stay at this hotel. We also rented their Nautilus room to host our daily work sessions. Jose and Pisey were very accommodative in organizing our booking and arrangement in advance and throughout the stay.

The hotel is in a great location within the Gaslamp quarter with plenty of restaurants, bars, and even a large grocery store nearby - so very convenient.

The hotel was very clean and has a great rooftop bar located on the ninth floor which was pretty lively at night with a view of the baseball stadium nearby.

The Nautilus room along with the adjacent terrace was a perfect location for our group size to get work done, allowing for both an inside and outside work environment. The breakfast and lunch work catering we had was just decent but their Middle Eastern lunch buffet was interestingly a favorite among our group - very tasty!

Would recommend a stay here.

We had a nice stay here. Our room was very reasonably priced, especially for expensive San Diego (I booked in April for a July stay; I suspect that rates are higher now that people are staying in hotels). We stayed on the eighth floor and it was very quiet at night. The bed was comfortable.
We loved the location. There are dozens of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is a block from Petco Park.

A few negatives:
At check-in, I was told that housekeeping would service the room only on request. I requested daily service primarily because hotels are trying to use Covid as an excuse to save money by cutting housekeepers’ hours. The room was serviced the first day. When we returned to our room the second day, it appeared that housekeeping had not been there. I inquired at the front desk and was told that housekeeping could not possibly service the room every day (contrary to what I was told at check-in). This is nonsense, of course. If a guest requests housekeeping, the hotel should provide it. When I returned to the room, I noticed that the towels had been removed and the trash had been emptied.

Parking is a painful $50 a day.

Bathroom lighting is terrible—very dim. It was very hard to see to put makeup on.

We pulled up to the loading zone and exited the car. There was no initial greeting from the valet attendant. As we approached his counter, he greeted us with "are you staying at the hotel?" rather than "Welcome to Hotel Indigo." He proceeded with verifying whether or not we want to pay the valet fees, which made me feel like I had other options. We were directed to the front desk without anyone offering to help us with bags.

We were disappointed that the hotel did not offer slippers for guests. There was a Keurig coffee machine but no complimentary water. Water for $5. We found the sink had a minor clogged and so we had to request maintenance the next day. When we returned to the room the next day, we found footprints all over the bathroom and the floor towel. So we requested someone to clean up the footprints and replaced the towel that had been stepped all over while we were out for dinner. When we returned, the floor was wiped but not thoroughly. We can still see footprints. New towels were left behind, but the dirty towels were not removed. Housekeeping also did not take out the trash and recycling.

The exterior and lobby of the hotel are clean and modern, so naturally one would have the same expectations for the rooms. However, the first room I was assigned had a musty odor that smelled that wouldn't go away even when leaving the window open and spraying freshener on every fabric. Additionally the Heater/AC unit did not work in the work in the room. I was extremely surprised to find that the rooms do not feature USB charging units which I feel comes standard in most chain hotels these days. I ended up being moved to a different room, for none of these reasons, and actually due to obnoxiously loud neighbors next door. The room I was moved to thankfully did not have a foul odor and had a working heater/ac unit. Will not be staying at any Indigo brand locations in the future unless I see some changes have been made.

My boyfriend booked us a room for a little "staycation" in the San Diego location. When we arrived they showed us to our room, which happened to be a beautiful corner room with a lovely view of downtown, only when we walked in, the room had not been cleaned yet (bed had been slept in, there was trash around, an empty bottle of wine on the dresser) we called the front to let them know and they said they would be right there to clean it. a few minutes later we were met by a front desk staff member who said she would have to move us to the next room, which was smaller and didnt have the same view. We insisted that we didnt mind waiting for the room to be cleaned, since that was the room we had picked for its view. She repeatedly said "sorry but that is not possible" I asked how long it would take for the room to be cleaned, she said "I have no way of knowing when it will be ready" Fine, we accepted the room. eventually we decided to order room service, two cocktails and an appetizer, we were told it would be delivered in 20 minutes. 1 hour later we decided to go out for drinks and dinner since we were tired of waiting and wanted to get on with out night. We also weren't given our breakfast vouchers when we checked in, which they said they would bring to us, apparently they forgot. all of the hand sanitizers by the elevators were empty. the next day an associate gave us a free late check out because of our long wait for room service, that was nice, but I was still very disappointed with the overall experience. this was supposed to be a relaxing experience, and it ended up being more stressful and disappointing. I wish we had chosen a different hotel. It was also disappointing because I had always wanted to stay at the Indigo and now I never want to go back.

We arrived at this hotel at the end of a PCH road trip, so it was our 7th hotel in ten days. We were shocked when we checked in and inquired about parking, and was told the garage was full and provided a few nearby lots where we could attempt to park. I have never had that happen at any hotel, so we took our bags upstairs and my husband proceeded to find any empty parking lot.

The room is decorated well, and very comfortable. Our door didn’t shut well though, and there were a few times it had remained open even though we thought we closed it. The other issue I had was the hallway noise. The walls are thin and I was woken up in the middle of the night twice because of people talking.

Overall the property was nice, and because of Covid we couldn’t use many of the amenities, but because of the parking inconvenience and the thin walls we will not stay here again. They also did not include any water in the room, and they were the only hotel that did not have a complimentary bottle upon arrival.

All amenities and perks that were advertised on website were not available. I understand that due to the pandemic there are many changes made to businesses, in that case update your site so I don't think that when I spend my money with you these amenities are available to enjoy. All my rooms (3) were not what I needed, the meditation roof top was not open and the advertised 24hr room service was not available. All of these things I was expecting to enjoy after a long flight. This was very very disappointing to my family and I. I feel like I could of spent my money elsewhere and received more for this rate.

A friend and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo the beginning of November 2020. Of course being in 2020 there were different rules and restrictions - especially surrounding dine in restrictions/times. The hotel staff, particularly Spencer, went above and beyond to give that service that we were missing from a hotel. The service we received more than made up for the change in service hours of their restaurants and other temporary changes. The property itself was fantastic and in a great area. Overall, would absolutely recommend.

I went to the hotel indigo with my boyfriend and I cannot stress this enough, the customer service was absolutely amazing. The girls at the front desk deserve a raise especially erica. Thank you for giving us an amazing weekend!
The girls at the front desk checked us in very quickly and when we wanted to upgrade into a room with a balcony they did and they also accommodated us with parking. They gave us numerous tips on what's open and what wasn't and they said to give them a call anytime we needed them. The rooms were clean and amazing and very well accommodated. The whole stay was just a positive experience. Thank you so much!
