Wife and I stayed for 1 night at the end of our vacation. The staff was super friendly and helpful, even after we got locked out of our room. The courtyard is charming and well maintained. The room itself was quaint, and sunlight poured in when the blinds were open. The furniture/bed was a bit dated, but in a forgiving,...

Not sure how this hotel can have such good reviews unless it is because you have so few options in Ocean Beach. We found the rooms very dated, the furniture was cheap and the couch was so filthy I covered it with my bedroom comforter. The first morning I spilled a glass of water and when I wiped it up...

I had the privilege of staying here for 3 nights as part of a get together of like-minded individuals. Service was very gracious and accommodating. The location couldn't be better for seeing the ocean, it was mere feet from my room. If you have the option of staying here while in San Diego, you should take it.

My husband and I stayed at The Inn at Sunset Cliffs in December 2016. We started our stay in a cute single queen bed room. We decided to check out the availability of their Presidential Suite that offers a 360' view of the ocean with lovely accommodations. We upgraded and stayed three additional nights in the Presidential Suite. And it...

We choose this venue for our wedding for a number of reasons but number 1 being that all our guests that wanted to stay and party could and not have to worry about driving. Why should the best day of your lives be shut down by 9!?! Everything about the venue was fantastic! The view, how sweet and charming the...

After staying in the Presidential Suite, I am not sure I will ever stay at any other hotel in San Diego! Being able to wake up to the sound of the ocean and drink your morning coffee over on their beautiful terrace overlooking the water was one of the best mornings I've had! The hotel was clean and had its...

Our daughter got married at the property and we had it completely rented out for family and friends. It was such a great time and all things were just perfect! It's a very unique property and I highly recommend it for any function especially if you rent out the entire hotel. I have stayed there many times and always stay...

The hotel is overpriced, rooms old and shabby. Would never stay again. One of the rooms smelled. Not an inviting atmosphere. I give it a one star rating. For the price, a breakfast should have been provided. TV didn't work and was never fixed or changed out as promised.

The Pacific Ocean ... up close... my room was no more the 100 feet from the waves breaking/crashing onto the cliffs and walls below! Wonderful staff... beautiful/blooming courtyard. Very nice outdoor heated pool. I will absolutely staay there again next trip to CA.

If you are looking for a fancy hotel with a room on the 25th floor overlooking the ocean, this is not the place for you. If you want a room close to the ocean with great views and sunsets to remember and if you want to actually HEAR the ocean at night, this is a great place to stay. We...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Inn at Sunset Cliffs located in historical Point Loma, California. We are one of only a few San Diego hotels truly located on the Pacific Ocean, just steps away from Ocean Beach. Originally built in the 1950's, we have completed the hotel remodel in 2011, and the lower terrace in 2016 thus creating a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere to accommodate any San Diego visitor. Almost a brand new hotel and brand new oceanfront patio! No other San Diego hotel offers a view as breathtaking as from our spacious terrace overlooking the Cliffs, Ocean Beach and as far as La Jolla. The Inn at Sunset Cliffs is truly one of the only San Diego beach hotels that is actually a waterfront hotel. Oceanfront suites with the sea breeze just outside your door. Sunset Cliffs creates scenic atmospheres all year long, with million-dollar views everyday. Being a quiet privately owned San Diego hotel, we support our locals and want to help our community. San Diego Beaches are near, being just a few blocks away from us. Experience the great San Diego surfing with an awesome location to scope where to ride for your session just a few steps away from your room. Wake up to the sounds of the waves crashing onto our property. Look out at the Pacific Ocean to see the beauty San Diego has to offer. When you feel like relaxing, our two ocean view terraces allow you to view out over the horizon of the Pacific Ocean. Kick your feet up and let the waves take you away... ... more   less
