From the adorable rooms to the caring attention of the owners, this has to be the best kept secret in San Diego. Not only does each room have its own personality and style but the owners go out of their way to make their guests feel at home in San Diego. And the breakfast is amazing. Don't miss it!

We loved every moment of our stay in the Garden Suite, with its French doors leading onto a secluded patio. Lots of attention has been given to guests' comfort and Doug and Ben are attentive, but not intrusive hosts. Their local knowledge was appreciated, as was the fabulous breakfast which started each day. We felt very much at home and... More

I enjoyed my stay in the Blue Room. It's got lots of light and is comfortable and very clean. The other guests were great and the breakfast very pleasant, with fresh fruit and a warm main meal and lots of coffee. There are plenty of wonderful places to sit indoors and outside. The porch swing is great. The decor is entertaining. The innkeepers are... More

Doug and Ben, the hosts, made us feel right at home. They attended to our diet and beverage requests at breakfast each morning. When we arrived Ben, when over many specifics about mass transit and street directions, since my husband informed them we were taking a "carless" trip this time. We spent 12 days at the Keating house on this... More

I travel to San Diego for a conference every year and have stayed at the Keating House my last 5 trips! The location is great - an easy walk to Balboa Park and lots of restaurants, and there are several buses within a couple blocks on the inn that will take you wherever you want to go if you are... The hosts of the Keating House (bed and breakfast) have been very good each time we have stayed there. I think we have stayed there 4 times, perhaps 5. The location is a few blocks south of Laurel, the street that runs through to the Balboa Park Museums. This makes the museums in walking distance. Also within walking distance is... More

Like most folk who have written about their Keating experience, ours was First Class, too. From the welcoming greeting, to directions, to restaurant recommendations, to location, to Balboa Park and it's amazing attractions, to making new friends, you might want to strongly consider staying here when visiting San Diego. Everything...well almost everything....is within walking distance and we felt safe walking!... More

We were lucky enough to find the Keating House for 3 nights of our trip to Southern California. We were greeted by Ben and given a wonderful overview of the city and a map. We stayed in the Aqua Room which is small but perfectly adequate with French doors that lead out to a pretty garden with a table perfect... More

We were in San Diego all week from 03/27 to 04/02 and decided to split up our stays, 3 nights in Pacific Beach on the Ocean and the other 3 nights here. We picked this B&B to be walking distance to Balboa park, the zoo, and close enough to downtown. We did not think about being in the flight path... More

As a solo traveler I always look for a safe, inviting, centrally located small inn or bnb. I lucked out on all accounts when I got the last room in the Keating House. It is a lovely bnb with charm galore. I loved my little room tucked on a second floor in the back building, my Chaufeur's room was everything... More
