We just got back yesterday after a week here and had a wonderful stay One bedroom suite with lots of light overlooking all the activity was fun for when we were spending downtime. Hotel interior was beautiful with all the marble walls and flooring. Rooftop viewing area was wonderful as well as the coffee and espresso service We have family in the area and have spent a lot of time but this is the first time to stay downtown. 15 minute drive to Coronado beach, plenty of restaurants and bars we couldn't have been happier. Yes was it crazy on the weekend? Yes, but we had expected that given the location. Staff was extremely welcoming and valet really worked hard. Only thing I would say is that the bed seemed smaller than a queen, while still comfortable we would have been more comfortable had it been a bit larger.…
Love this hotel!! The location in the Gaslamp Is amazing. The staff are so friendly. The rooms are always super clean. The rooftop is a wonderful place to hang out. It can be noisy on the weekends due to the prime location, but we use a sound machine on our phone to block it out.
This property is in the heart of the gaslamp. There are many restaurants within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The rooms were cozy and the walls did not appear too thin as may be the case with other properties. I would highly recommend them. I would not hesitate staying here again in the future.
Very nice friendly people , clean great hotel and perfect location close to the Convention Center. Very Attentive service. We have stayed there in the past and definitely would again . Small hotel with all the amenities
Good location about 15 mins walking to convention center and 20 mins to seaport village and ferry to Coronado Island, USS Midway. Tons if bars and restaurants just out the door. Valet guys hustled - valet is a must given limited street parking
Right in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter. Easy walk to convention center, ball park, ferry landing and tons of restaurants and bars. Older hotel, but clean. Nice roof top terrace. Staff is friendly. Reason for four stars only is the loud music from the bars all around on weekends. Other than that we had a great time.
We just returned from our weeklong stay through RCI at the Gaslamp Plaza Suites. At first I was happy with the friendly, helpful staff who assisted us upon entry. Then I was escorted to our room. It was tiny and dark. I went back to the front desk and asked if there was nothing else we could move to. They said I had requested a quiet room and this one in the back of the hotel was all they had available. This was even though I had booked a year ahead! I was furious. Then, since I had made plans for each day, I unpacked into the dresser, stored mt suitcase on the bathroom and put ironing board in the bath room, as it was quite a large area, to hold my other items. After the shock wore off my husband and I became accustomed to our space and used it as a base camp for exploring the city. The hotel is well located near restaurants, cafes and the great trolley and bus system. The hotel staff felt badly and were very helpful in any way they could. We spent a glorious week in the San Diego sunshine visiting all the sights. We watched fireworks from the deck of the Midway aircraft carrier, strolled Balboa Park and it’s great museums, dined at the Prado restaurant (don’t miss it), saw Shakespeare in the Old Globe theater. We ferried over to Coronado Island and biked to the gorgeous Hotel Del Coronado for lunch. Took the trolley, only two blocks away, to visit Old Town historic area and La Jolla cove where we ate at George’s on the cliff.(Another not to miss). Another day we saw a ballgame at Petco Park which is walkable from the hotel. Beautiful stadium! We also spent a day at the famous San Diego Zoo. Extraordinary place where the landscape blends with the animals inhabiting it. We had lunch at Albertt’s Restaurant in the zoo, a treehouse where you can dine beside a waterfall. It was named for a longtime resident gorilla who was beloved by the park. So much to do and so accessible are my reasons to try it.…
The location is very good in downtown San Diego. You can get anywhere in a few minutes. The hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff is wonderful... Just be aware that parking is $40 a day. Most important,,,,, you are right in the middle of the Gas Lamp district. The bars close at 2AM. You will need earplugs,,,, especially on Friday and Saturday night
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooftop lounge with free coffee, filtered water, and indoor/outdoor space for hanging out was a special bonus. Nice to bring our own food/drinks and view the city.
Walking distancing to restaurants, Convention Center, Seaport Village, shopping. Location was amazing! The room itself was okay. The refrigerator didn’t work, the bathroom door was very squeaky and the a/c was loud as it kicked on and off.
