They were overbooked, so there were no space for us, so the only option the could manage was put a air mattress on the floor of a 10 people room. We didn't expect so much, but unless a single bed for sleeping.

Hostel Cat is fantastic for people like me. I was travelling round the statesand it was the ideal base to explore san diego. Within a 20 minute radius we got to the brilliant san diego zoo, the trolley station, bars and nightlife, the baseball field...was truly great. I'm pretty sure it was in the dodgy area of town though -... More

Hostel Cat discriminates against anyone over age 30 and all American citizens. It is very noisy 24 hrs a day. The area is dangerous at night. The kitchen and bathrooms are filthy and disgusting. Staff is rude and careless.

With all the excellent reviews I found on Hostel Cat I didn't hesitate to book. But upon arrival I found my self very disappointed. The hostel is located in a seedy part of San Diego, with a rehab centre just across the rd. It was 14blocks into town and a big walk past all the homeless people of San Diego.... More

Found this hostel by chance on hostelworld.com and luck was obviously on my side. From the ouside it looks a little more hostile than hostel but as soon as you step in the doors you feel instantly home. The rooms are spotless, the facilities are second to none and the staff are amazing. The appearance is somewhat street and it... More

Pay attention! This hostel is actually a garage adapted to a hostel with no windows and in a scary area (weird peole around!). In the Summer, it's extremely hot, it has claustrophobic showers and loud music until late night. This is the perfect "party hostel", so if you like to drink and meet new people, it's perfect..but if you would... More

Stayed here during a 3 day stay of San Diego in Feb as the first review of this place on Trip Advisor I have to say it was a good hostel. The hostel is filled with bubbly characters, both staff and other guests who make you feel welcome and the staff (Mainly Chandler) do their best to get you involved... More
