This hotel is an okay option for a stop over. I stayed at the hotel for 1 night on my way from Tucson AZ to Los Angeles. I booked it for $80 and I found that deal not really reasonable for the quality I got. The hotel location is near the trendy Hillcrest area which is a short 6 min drive. There are mostly other hotels around, with a liquor store about 50 feet away. The area is not convenient at all and not walkable, because it is located between a hill and a highway. I got a room on the second floor. My room was a basic motel type room, but updated and clean. Its size was big, but at the same time the bathroom was super tiny. The king-size bed was somewhat comfortable. I found it a little hard. I did not like the air conditioner because it was dirty and didn’t want that blowing around the room. Also a big minus for me was the noise insulation. I could clearly hear what was going on outside and in the rooms next to mine. The bathroom amenities were very bad. Wi-Fi was working pretty fast. Free parking is a big plus. I recommend staying at this hotel only for stop over. And I believe the nightly price should not be more than $50.

Needed a hotel room at the last minute and this was a GREAT find. All of the staff was friendly but Pierre really stood out. He is polite, professional, accommodating, and has the absolute BEST personality. As a HH Member, I usually stay at larger chains, but due to the overwhelming number of guests, they usually can't provide the personalized customer service Pierre has provided each and every day from housekeeping to maintenance requests to dining recommendations. Front Desk Concierges like him really brighten your day when you're away from home.

I had a great 3 night stay at the Atwood Hotel. It is not the most centralized located or fancy place to lay your head but one of the cheapest and cleanest deals around. Late night, Jairo (overnight concierge) with out hesitation while using proper guidelines assisted me on obtaining a new key card so I wasn't without a place to sleep. Pierre, a kind and soft spoken concierge, was attentive, professional, and so nice to lend his phone charger to me when I was checking out! Service and hospitality go a long way! its cool to be kind.

My husband and I had been traveling for 2 days from Washington and we arrived at The Atwood as we had booked a room through hotels.com, confirmation notice and everything. When we got to the Atwood, for some reason the reservation never got sent from hotels.com to The Atwood and we momentarily feared we would have nowhere to go for the night. Lorena was so kind and helpful and not only booked us a room, she actually booked us the same room at a significantly lower price. We’re so grateful for Lorena’s help and quick action during what could have been a really stressful moment. Definitely 5 star service without the 5 star price.
