Excellent restaurant that is central to everything. We were able to walk to Fenway park, breakfast at The Friendly Toast, the mall across the street, Atlantic Fish Company, etc. Very convenient! The rooms are a good size, beds are soft and well maintained and the rooftop pool is a nice feature! Would definitely stay here again!
Our stay was pleasant. Room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was polite and accommodating. The highlight of our stay was meeting Norman at the front door. He greeted us with such "gentleman-like kindness" and respect. The manner in which he presents himself exudes dignity and self-respect. As a result it radiates throughout the room. Norman is an asset to this organization and I hope he is responsible for training new associates who hold similar roles. Again, Norman is an absolute gentleman.
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while my daughter was at college orientation. The positives: Good air conditioning, comfortable beds, generally quiet The negatives: dated bathroom with moldy tub, price point is high, hotel is showing its age with broken furniture, scratched walls (could use a refresh) and the gym is awful…it is not a gym but a large hotel room with broken equipment. There is no where to walk. If you use the equipment the person next to you will have to wait to walk by. I saw a man walk through a tiny aisle and knock the clock off the wall (there is no room at all). Bottom line: If you use the gym - this is not the hotel for you. If you find a good rate - this is compatible to the Westin down the street.
We love The Colonade! This hotel has excellent service. From the front doorman, Norman is wonderful & greets you with a big smile & thanks you for coming. Front desk is excellent, very easy check in. We brought another couple with us who never stayed there & they loved it! The rooftop pool is a great bonus to this hotel & a beautiful restaurant in the lobby. I highly recommend The Colonade
Loved the location of this hotel and front desk staff + Norman were great. However we encountered a few issues: housekeeping did less and less as our stay went on, by our 4th day we were down to only 2 towels, 1 face cloth and no bath mat or bottled water. We didn’t tip (usually leave that on the last day) and it seemed deliberate they slowly took away amenities. Interesting there was also no microwave but there was a bible (!!) - seemed like an outdated practice for an urban hotel. Second, on Aug 28 when checking out the elevator was broken, we were informed by front desk staff that it was due to a fire alarm at 4:50am - we were on the 10th floor (!!!!) and it did not go off on our floor. Terrifying. Lastly - pool was a little overrun - we understood because it was a hot august weekend but don’t anticipate a relaxing time up there with tons of kids - would be a great idea to implement adults only hours. Overall we enjoyed our stay but some issues with this stay.…
My son and I arrived early and immediately were provided a room which was excellent as we flew in and had a fair amount of luggage. The staff could have been more accommodating. The location is great and the roof top pool was main reason for choosing the Colonnade and it didn’t dissapoint. The stay couldn’t have been better - perfect actually!
Had an amazing time in Boston with my 2 girls and hubby. Hotel pool and bar was perfect after a day out exploring the city. On the last night we went to rooftop pool and they had musician there …music set the tone just right. So relaxing enjoying our cocktails, staring at the starry night. Boston, we’ll be back . See you again .
We stayed here as a family trip to Boston. The location was great for us to see Boston. It is located in walking distance of most of what we wanted to see. Only a few minutes from subway and right across the street from Prudential centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Norman was really memorable for us, so nice and helpful. Every hotel should have a Norman.
Excellent hotel in fantastic location. Rooms very good and breakfast was superb. There is also benefit of a rooftop pool. Only slight disappointment was one of the bar tenders was very arrogant and should she should not be working there. the other bar tenders and all other staff were fantastic.. will be back
The Colonnade Hotel is overrated and rips off consumers. I believe the reputation is based on the location. We are a family of 5 who needed a place to stay to move my daughter into college. There were no places to stay within the proper distance to be able to come and go so I chose the Colonnade. I requested a roll away bed in my reservation and the reservation was confirmed and they took my money. Once I got there (almost midnight) they had not put the bed in the room. I inquired and was told by David at the front desk,” I’ll have that brought up to you.” not have one to give me. I called twice about it and was told they’d get back to me. No now got back to me. The man who brought me towels told me, “we can’t find one, we only have a certain amount to give and we don’t have anymore”. There was not enough room in a small 2 queen bed room. Furthermore, the room has only 3 towels and no washcloths at all. I had to call and ASK for the towels and washcloths. If I am paying $500 a night why do I need fo ask for washcloths??? I am so disappointed and feel completely ripped off. I will never stay here again. Never. I will make sure others know that The Colonnade Hotel is terrible.…
