4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

When we decided to visit Boston, we knew we did not want to go there with a car. Parking is very limited and expensive, streets are narrow and Boston drivers are not the best. So we looked for a hotel which was centrally located. The Harborside Inn fit our needs perfectly. This hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance... More

Location was absolutely perfect. Steps away from the T. Parking garage 100M away. Faneuil Hall, shopping, Harbor, Bars, Restaurants, Aquarium and more all surrounding the hotel. Nice lobby with a bar that had live music at night! Room was small but cozy. Wish we had an outside view though, our window only looking out into a inner courtyard.

The room was nicely decorated and very clean. There were no amenities beyond the basics, but the price reflects that. It is one of the cheaper hotels in Boston and in a great location. There was a lot to park in a few blocks away. You get a discount with hotel validation.

Recently we took a spur of the moment trip to Boston. We started trying to make reservations on Wednesday for Saturday night. Good luck, right? We went to the usual discount hotel websites online, and Harborside came up right away on the low range of the scale. We passed it by because, at that price (we found deals for under... More

Being in Boston for a conference, I wanted to spend the last few days in the North part of town. Since this was a busy week and most of the hotels were sold out I found this online by searching through TripAdvisor. I saw the pictures of the room and was impressed. The reviews weren't great, but it didn't seem... More

It is an ok hotel that has some things going for it, excellent location and friendly and professional staff are their big plusses. Hotel looks a bit dated, but everything is clean and works. Rooms are smallish. Missing some services that I feel a three star hotel should have such as a laundry service and a gym. Desk in the... More

We picked this hotel mainly on the basis of its convenient location - it is perfect for the harbourside, Aquarium, Quincy Market, business and shopping districts. We stayed in the run up to the 4th July weekend and rates were high - over $600 total for two nights - and I would suggest this is poor value for money. The... More

Stayed here for a single night for a quick trip to Boston. The hotel is excellent, functional and a short walk way from the main attractions. Its modern with functional rooms and comfortable environment. Receptionists were friendly, the place was clean and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

When we had a major issue with our lodging at another place, the staff/management was very friendly and quick to accommodate us at 8 a.m. They continued to help us out with questions and suggestions. Great location for many attractions and transportation.

Great location, friendly helpful staff but few amenities. No free breakfast and not coffee or tea offered in room, (there's a Starbucks on site). Our room is advertised as an atrium view but it's actually a view of the main hallway. You must keep the blinds shut unless you like people looking into your room.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
