I stayed at the XV Beacon in early March 2017, and I'm finding it difficult to fault this fabulous boutique hotel on anything that guests would care about. The rooms are gorgeous, with high ceilings, beautifully appointed and comfortable beds, and lovely bathrooms. The staff is competent and attentive without being overbearing or overly solicitous. My friend and I booked...

I'm a little slow in writing this , but that's because i started it and apparently didn't finish it. I stayed at the XV Beacon for about the 5th time last November. This hotel never ceases to amaze me. I've written other reviews on it, but I think it's important to continue to say 'they haven't lost their touch'. Sometimes...

What a beautiful hotel. Our stay was excellent. The room with the fireplace was stunning. The bathroom was beautifully appointed . We will definitely return . The location is discrete in a very elegant part of town, yet a walk from parks and town.

The in-room fireplace made my trip so cozy! Nothing like coming in from the cold New England weather to my fireplace on and surprise cookies and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me when I got back to the room!

Ran away from home after burying my bff of over 30 years. She passed away from breast cancer and I need to find some quiet in a luxurious place that would take care of me. I found great solace and peace at the XV. They ordered room service for me, brought me things I didn't know I needed - warm...

This is a beautiful hotel that has the nicest rooms and best staff of almost any place we have ever stayed. Our room was on the 4th floor facing the street which gave us a little more street noise than we would have liked, but that is the only demerit. The room itself and the hall were very quiet. The...

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
