The Beacon is a small boutique hotel in a great location in downtown Boston. The rooms are very small. If you are planning on an extended stay in Boston this is not the place to be! You cannot get out of bed without hitting a wall! There is no dresser for clothing. The staff is very accommodating. They treat everyone wonderfully.... More

First visit to Boston from the UK and this hotel was the best introduction to this friendly city we could ask for. Situated yards from the State House and Boston Common great location to start walking the freedom trail. From the start even prior to our arrival the hotel contacted us to confirm our reservation and to ask how they... More

They were very accommodating during our three night stay. We had rooms next to each other and they put a third bed in one of the rooms for our kids. Breakfast was good but the service slows down dramatically at busy times. The courtesy car is a nice touch and the door men are super helpful - Kevin was great!!

The Beacon is a lovely small boutique hotel centrally located close to the Commons. We had never been to Boston before..... And well, there is really very little to do in Boston. I would definitely recommend staying in Newport instead. If you must stay in Boston, then the XV Beacon is gem.

While I have stayed numerous times in Boston over the years, I had never stayed at XV Beacon before. I have eaten at the restaurant in its numerous incarnations over the years. Thought I'd give it a go this time as location wise worked well for me. My flight was hugely delayed, and I arrived at 4am. Thankfully the room... More

The hotel is very clean and the staff is "super" friendly. Not much to say but a great experience. I wish we had stayed longer. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms very spacious with many amenities. Best hotel in Boston.

On our recent trip to Boston we decided to stay at a different hotel in an area of the city we like - Beacon Hill so we chose XV Beacon. The welcome was good at reception and our room (1 bed studio) was quite spacious for a city centre hotel. There were some odd design statements though - the extra... More

There a was only 1 reason we chose this hotel and it was for the view of the fireworks on the terrace. The room was nice and the service was good. There were shrubs in the way on the terrace blocking the view except for a little spot so we had to stand up there for 2 1/2 hours to... More

We had an absolute amazing time being pampered at XV Beacon. The staff was gracious and the room was gorgeous. My husband and I stayed here during a brief sight seeing detour on our way to Cape Cod. We used the complimentary car service once, had great advice from the concierge, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast from room service. I'd... More

From the moment you walk in you feel welcome at this homey, yet luxurious small hotel. Details below: 1. Service: As stated above, thoughtful, anticipatory proactive service. Daniel from the front desk welcomed us and nicely solved an issue that we had with our daughter's accommodation. One of the concierges, Dan, helped with a couple of very useful suggestions. Last... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
