We absolutely adored The Dagny, I had researched long and hard for our first ever trip to Boston and was elated with practically everything during our four night stay.
The room was nothing particularly special but had high ceilings and solid dark furniture plus was on a corner so lots of windows. The bed was large and super comfortable and the shower was more than serviceable, they’re my two absolute must haves for any stay.
There’s a fantastic breakfast joint attached to the hotel - Tradesman Coffee Shop - great coffee and breakfast rolls with the queues out the door testament to its popularity. At the other end of the hotel is Fin Point Oyster Bar very decent quality food and we at the very least finished our evenings here every night, sitting at the bar chatting to the friendly bar staff. We had one big issue right at the end of our stay with a rude young girl which really put my nose out of joint but it was thankfully quickly and satisfactorily resolved by the manager, we didn’t want anything to tarnish what has been four superb nights.
Note the position of the hotel in the Financial District but please don’t let that put you off, it’s two minutes from Boston Harbour and everything we wanted was within walking distance, great bars, restaurants and most of the must see sights. We caught an uber just once when we ended up on the far edge of the city and exhausted one night.
If we return to Boston - we loved it but there’s a big world out there - we would 100% stay here again, I would quickly check that nothing had changed and book in a flash.

We travelled to Boston for a wedding and stayed one night at the Dagny before moving on to the wedding location venue. We arrived around 10am and were fortunate that they had a room available and we were able to check in and explore the town. The check in desk had a lovely young lady who was very nice and made everything easy. When we went to explore, my husband stopped and spoke with Chris, the doorman. He was a wealth of knowledge and gave us some great places to visit and made fantastic recommendations. The hotel was wonderful, awesome location for walking to so many places and on our check out day, we made it to the restaurant/bakery on the ground floor - what an incredible discovery. The pastries we purchased for our road trip were absolutely tasty and delicious. The room we stayed in was very clean, super comfy bed and squishy pillows, great shades to keep out the sun (if you wanted), so sleeping came really easy after a long flight and walking around Boston. Would definitely stay here again!!!!

In January 2024, we decided to celebrate a special wedding anniversary in Boston, MA, with close family members in July 2024. Some of our family were coming from Europe, so we wanted a hotel in an area where everyone could tour the city on foot. We found the Dagny Hotel on the Internet, and it appeared to suit all of our needs: location, price of rooms, amenities, food service, parking, nearby restaurants, and the ability to bring pet dogs. (Two family members had dogs.) Knowing that July is peak tourist season, we immediately made reservations online. It was easy and quick to reserve seven rooms. (In the end, we booked eight rooms when an additional couple wanted to join us.)
As July approached, The Dagny contacted us to confirm our reservations and review the reserved rooms. The management kept in touch with us until the day we arrived, offering any help we needed. Their constant communication was reassuring and helpful.
The hotel has only been open for a little more than a year. It is not a large hotel, but it felt comfortable from the minute we walked in. The building's decorative theme is Art Deco, which is carried out in the lobby and the rooms. We loved it. The dogs were given special treatment: They had their own beds, toys, bowls, and a gift package of dog treats. Very impressive!
The Fin Point Oyster Bar restaurant was a favorite of some of our family, and every morning, we met in The Tradesman Coffee Shop, where we had breakfast. Every guest is allowed $10 for breakfast. If the cost is over $10, the addition is charged to the room. The selection, cafeteria-style, was wonderful.
Because of its great location, we walked to Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, the Public Garden, and some of our family walked the Freedom Trail. I also reserved seats for an evening Red Sox baseball game at the famous Fenway Park when we made hotel reservations.
The best feature of The Dagny Hotel is its staff. In many years of traveling, we rarely have had such helpful, pleasant, and delightful staff. They would do anything for us. The two concierges even helped us rent a car for a day at the last minute.
If you are planning a visit to Boston, try to reserve rooms at The Dagny Hotel. You won't be sorry!

The Dagny was a great hotel for our 2 night stay in Boston. This hotel is in a great location close to many bars and restaurants in the seaport area. All of the staff from reception desk, to doormen, to the housekeeping were very accomodating. We certainly would stay here again!

This is my first time visiting this property and I travel for business several times a month. This will certainly not be my last visit. I loved everything about this hotel!! My hotel room was clean, well furnished and very comfortable. The amenities in the room were a nice touch. The professionalism and kindness of the staff warmed my heart. Every employee I came in contact with spoke and greeted me with a smile. All of the staff were exceptional but Barry Buchanan, Concierge, was absolutely amazing!! What a warm, kind, gentle soul. He went above and beyond to ensure all my questions about the hotel and Boston were answered. He was helpful in suggesting local restaurants, pubs, and sightseeing. Every time he saw me, he came over to inquire about my stay. His kindness in wishing me a "Happy Birthday" will always be remembered. Also, John McKinnon, Concierge, was extremely pleasant and was friendly and helpful during my visit. He made a point to tell me if there was anything I needed, be sure to reach out to him. Housekeeping team members were attentive and, when I called down to secure a toiletree item, very efficient. The doorman, Rob, always greeted us with a smile as he opened the door as we entered or exited the hotel.
The hotel is in a great location, the Finanial District, close to restaurants, shopping and just a short distance to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. The coffee shop was delightful.
This is certainly my "go to" hotel the next time I am in Boston. I could not have had a better overall experience and the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday. Everyone reading this review, should check this hotel out!!
Thank you, Dagny staff, for a wonderful stay.

A very good online find. Location can't be beat--walk to the North End, the water, the business district, with lots of places to eat, and Chinatown. An attractive hotel with lots to do inside--very nice gym, library, and our clean, well-equipped, oh-so-quiet rooms. Loved, loved, loved the shower and those killer blackout shades!! Best of all, the housekeeping/houseman staff were lovely, everything possible was done for us, and we enjoyed the valet and doormen and bellhops. Then, just before leaving, we learned of a medical crisis and I was left with a long wait downstairs for a long-distance Uber. A truly kind, smart, young bellhop--Jason, I hope that's right--sorted our luggage for different destinations (letter-perfect), watched our things, kept me company, which was so appreciated, and made certain I got into the rigt Uber with the right driver, because there'd been a lot of confusion booking the ride. :} :} :}
There are small things which could be worked on, how to keep the room temp comfortable, somewhat drafty windows, phone reservations were a bit tedious, and though the Tradesman was quite charming I was disappointed in my breakfast and the barista who didn't know how to warm things properly. (I was told some of the other dishes were good.) Biggest issue--the $10/day/person credit got doled out by the front desk in such a way that we only got to use one $10 credit, given the cafe's hours. I would say this policy and this amenity aren't necessarily up to the Dagny's otherwise very high standards.
But again, we enjoyed it and felt very comfortable. Will definitely return!

The Dagny was selected by a friend who is a travel agent. It was the last stop on an east coast trip with my family. We arrived before check in, but were given great suggestions by the concierge, who also locked up our luggage. We returned late and found ourselves in a large, beautiful room. The black out shades were amazing, the temperature perfect, the beds comfy and we did not hear any street noise. The Dagny was well situated to everything we wanted to see and in walking distance. The coffee shop in the lobby was great and served everything you could want. If I go to Boston again I would stay at the Dagny.

From the moment we pulled up in front of the Dagny, it felt like home (maybe better than home). The doorman and valet Parker were so welcoming. Once inside all of the staff were amazing and the check-in process was smooth. We arrived in our room and it was a perfect temperature, tidy and just welcoming. The beds were AMAZING!
There were plenty of towels and washcloths, which was a bonus because typically when booking a room with four adults at other hotels, there are never enough! Anytime we left to go out for an adventure, we were greeted with the best hospitality such as, do you know where you are going, do you need directions? The doors were always opened for us upon our return. The food, don’t even get me started here, the food at the restaurant, Fin Point Oyster Bar and Grille was nothing more than AMAZING. The staff was overly friendly and they all got along so well (which makes it feel like family). We ordered apps to share and everything was superb! In case you are wondering, we had the grain bowl, calamari and the mushroom flatbread.
For breakfast, we went to the Tradesman Coffee shoppe and lounge, it was a poppin place with great food and the atmosphere was, well, Awesome! Again the food and coffee was delish! The staff was so accommodating and relaxed even though there was a big crowd waiting to be served.
The location is absolutely right where you want to be, just a short walk to many, many places in the city!
I will definitely return again!

I had researched my Boston stay prior to traveling and was really impressed with the fantastic reviews The Dagny had received, so I booked it for 2 nights. I can now say that the reviews are well earned, because this is a fantastic property in the heart of Boston, with an excellent location and near-perfect hospitality. Their pre-stay messaging by email was very good - offering upgrade possibilities which I took advantage of. When I arrived, I found that one of my upgrades had been approved (to a larger room with a view) for just $12 additional per night. The front office check-in was very smooth and welcoming. I found the room to be exceptionally spacious and beautiful. The beds were super comfortable, and the room looked out on a city view of Boston. There was a refrigerator for storing beverages which we used. The bathroom was clean and stocked with very nice amenities. There was a robe hanging in the closet as well. The location in Boston is perfect for getting to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace by foot as well as access to subways at Government Center. The hotel has a coffee shop that has good coffee and a variety of pastries and also some hot food items like breakfast sandwiches. Hotel guests get a 10% discount but it might be nicer to have a complimentary breakfast for guests, which seems to be more of an industry standard. Overall, I highly recommend this wonderful property and would stay again in a heartbeat.
