This was my first trip to the Boston area. I came in for work and decided to arrive a day early to get to see Boston. Since I was on my own dime I looked for a centrally located hotel at a reasonable price. Most hotels were much more expensive so this worked for me. The hotel is located in...

I stayed at the Courtyard for 3 nights while attending a nearby business conference. The staff was pleasant and helpful and checking in took just a minute in the afternoon. The room was quaint (1210) and overlooked Tremont with a view of the parking lot across the street. There was no safe in the room and was forced to lock...

It's a perfectly nice Courtyard by Marriott. Good lobby, good location in Chinatown/Financial District. But the rooms are maybe the smallest I've ever stayed in at an American hotel. I had to look it up online, and they are, in fact, 185 sq. ft. And it is by no means a discount hotel. So, you get a very comfortable, clean,...

We stayed one night at this hotel and while the room was small, they make good use of the space and it was clean and comfortable. The location is perfect -- just minutes from Boston Common and a short walk to Quincy Market. If you don't plan to use your car, you can park right across the street in the...

Nice old hotel. Believe this hotel use to be the Tremont Hotel. Rooms are not that big. bathroom are small. Limited space in the rooms. Struggled to control the the temp. If I wasn't using points I probably would;t stay here. Rooms need work, patches of paint flaking from the ceiling. Workers are nice but not your typical Marriott property....

Dear Mike P, Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We appreciate your feedback. Our rooms are "cozy" and smaller than most rooms built today. You are right that this hotel use to be the Tremont Hotel and before that it was built as an Elks Lodge in the 1920s! Thank you for highlighting our great lobby...

We stayed for two nights over Thanksgiving. Yes, the room was a little small but very clean and comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so we were okay with that. Nice lobby area to relax if you like and the whole place seems brand new even though it's an older building. Restaurants, Boston Common and...

The Courtyard Boston Downtown is in an excellent location - it is right in the heart of the theater district and is easy walking distance (1 mile or less) to a wide range of restaurants, the historic downtown area (e.g., Freedom Trail), Boston Commons, the Charles River and the Back Bay, South End, and downtown neighborhoods. The lobby is much...

I am currently sitting in my room and have been listening to heavy bass and music coming from below for the last 3 hours. Too tired from a long day to have to deal with changing rooms and shouldn't have to do that since I am all the way up on the sixth floor. Do not stay here if you...

Small bathrooms, noise from streets but comfortable. Front desk ok but seemed to have more friction at checkout to add my Marriott Gold and get internet taken care of and a barebones checkin. Not like the Chicago Marriott but Ok for a confernce. Parking is across the street in public lot.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
