What a lovely hotel, the staff is beyond helpful and nice. And I cannot recommend enough that you have dinner at their Italian restaurant Contessa, the views are amazing and the food is a total treat.
I have no regrets about this hotel, from the check in to the check out everything went smoothly, my room was georgeous, they gave a 15th floor so I had an amazing view, I ordered late night service and it didn't talke not even 15 minutes to arrive, the bar downstairs was great, very nice food and service, Contessa rooftop is top notch, delicious food and the best service. THEY HAVE THE BEST MATTRESS EVER!!
The staff, from checking in, to rainy day tea in the library, to housekeeping was most welcoming. Truly felt like a pre-COVID hotel experience with fully amenities - 24 hour room service, 24 hour gym, daily housekeeping and turn down service. All restaurant recommendations were on point, too.
Beautifully situated across from Boston Public Garden and within walking distance to many of city’s historic monuments. Awesome suite and thoroughly enjoyed our daily breakfast at the rooftop Contessa restaurant. Amazing Autumn experience.
Ann and I had never been to Boston together before and neither of us had been there on our own or with others in a long time. Great place; we shall return. When we do, we will stay at The Newbury Boston and will advise all of our friends to do the same. It is a masterful reconstruction and remodeling of the old Ritz Carleton. Our suite was spacious with living room separate from bedroom and up-scale bathroom, all with ample closet and drawer storage and useable electronics. The basic rate was reasonable and made even more so when we were given a fourth night at no charge. Located at One Newbury Street across from Boston’s Public Garden, the hotel is an easy walk to shopping, dining, and many of this historic city’s notable sights and cultural amenities. Its Street Bar is an ideal place for breakfast and lunch. (While Contessa, the rooftop dining space is magnificent and provides excellent views of the city, we found its food and service to be lacking.) Each of the staff was friendly and helpful while making a point of calling us by name. Because of our very long absences from Boston, we particularly relied on the concierge staff (Joe Witherell, Member, Les Clefs d’Or USA, and MacyJaeger) to suggest things for us to do, as well as make the arrangements for us to do them. They were terrific and, as a result, we had interesting and enjoyable dinners at three different styles of restaurants while taking advantage of notable daytime activities like walking scenic byways and investigating the Kennedy Library, the “mapparium,” and two art museums.…
We must say that we were overwhelmed by the wonderful renovation of the old Ritz building. Not only has the Newbury brought back that old-style glamour, they have positioned the hotel to become a leading destination in Boston moving forward. Every detail has been considered, from the high-quality linens to the sustainability of providing high-end bath products in large bottles rather than those tiny little single-use landfill fillers. You can feel the pride the staff seems to have in the facility, and you feel this immediately upon check-in right through your check-out. They provide a wonderful room, the Library, for morning coffee, and they begin to serve it right at 6:30 (a boon for this early-riser). The Street Bar was a delight for dinner, and we have to say that we just adored everything about our brief stay. We are already planning out two more visits (at least) over the coming winter. This is a very special property, with an excellent staff. And the location happens to be in the very best part of the city, right next to Newbury street's shopping and the serene and beautiful Public Garden. Stop your search for the perfect Boston hotel, you just found it.…
We returned to the The Newbury after some months! The renovation has definitely enhanced a great old lady on Newbury Street. We could not ask for better service or a better stay. We will return again and again.
it was a packed weekend and they were clearly understaffed but waiting for valet 30 minutes after you had called 30 minutes prior made our stay unsettling. I would not stay there if you re planning on renting or bringing a vehicle. Additionally, our room reeked of pot and we made several attempts to get help to remedy it. Every time we stepped out and then returned, the stench got stronger. Ultimately, we just lived with it and were thankful our stay was brief. We were extremely disappointed, especially since so many of our friends had said this is THE place to stay.
I loved my stay in Boston and it was made even better by the immaculate facilities and room and incredibly helpful and attentive staff. I’ll be back any time my business travel allows. The location of the hotel keeps you close to all of Boston’s best places to visit.
Second visit was as delightful as the first time. Staff are so friendly and professional, gorgeous hotel design and delicious food. This time I brought my small service dog and everyone was very accommodating.
