The Revere Hotel Boston Common enjoys a prime location that guests often applaud for its closeness to local attractions and transit. However, despite the kudos for the hotel's cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff, some travelers have expressed concerns over the value, pointing out high costs and unexpected fees that don't seem to match the level of service and amenities offered. Additionally, noise disturbances present a common issue, and while the atmosphere and rooms have their charms, there are remarks about them showing signs of wear and needing a refresh.

All hotels in downton Boston are extremely expensive and this is no exception but was actually among the cheaper ones I could find. It was right next door to our car rental place which is why we picked this hotel. It's in between two subway stops but not a very long walk to either and also very close to the park so location is good.

We arrived very early but they let us leave our suitcases there free of charge and also the next day after checking out they let us store out suitcases there until later when it was time to go to the airport. Other hotels have usually charged us for this so this was a welcome surprise. Over all, the staff was great and everyone was very friendly.

The whole hotel is just very good quality and the rooftop bar/restaurant is great to have in the hotel with a lot of other facilities. Hotels.com said we would get a $32 coupon as Silver member but the hotel only gave us 20% off on one purchase in the restaurant which would have to be a very big meal to get up to $32.

My sister and I have had the most wonderful time at the Revere. It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in in Boston. We come here for a fun weekend about once a year , and Dawson stay at the bigger name, upscale nearby hotels. The difference at the Revere is the staff and warm, friendly ambiance. Without exception, everyone is friendly, kind, interested in our well-being, and helpful. We want to give special recognition to the front desk supervisor, who checked us in - Nimet Leka- he made us feel very welcome, and at home; Zach Whitham had taken a call from me before we arrived, as I had some questions. He was very welcoming and polite, seemed genuinely interested in making our visit a great experience.Glenn Mace helped us one day with some questions about Boston, places to eat, and we enjoyed speaking with him. Our breakfast this morning was lovely due to the attention of Muller M, whose welcoming smile, impeccable service, and manner made breakfast a delightful experience. The food has been excellent. Our bar service on Saturday night was provided by a lovely young blonde lady, whose name I didn’t get, however, even though she was clearly busy, she made time for us, and made sure we were well taken care of. We will definitely return, and will recommend the hotel to others. It is the staff and the experience they provided that made this stay perfect.
The rooms, amenities, are all perfect. We especially enjoyed the balcony in the view.

I had a very nice 1-night stay at this lovely hotel. Check in was quick and easy. I always request a room "far away from elevators and ice machines" when booking hotel rooms. They obliged. I stayed in room 1815 and the view of the city was phenomenal. I especially liked going out on the balcony to take pictures. The room was clean and smelled fresh. There was NO mold, dust, or bugs of any sort. The bed was comfy and had lots of pillows. The thermostat is in the room and it controlled the temperature appropriately. The blackout curtain blocked out most of the outdoor light for nice, dark sleeping conditions. There was NO refrigerator in this room. The coffee pot and television worked just fine. I liked the various electrical outlet, seating, and lighting options in the room. The Bigelow toiletries smelled very nice. I am a very light sleeper. I had my white noise machine with me for sleep time and did not hear any hall or neighboring room sounds while sleeping. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of everything - i.e., all the tourist things to do are within a 25-minute walk. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. I had a very delicious breakfast at the hotel's restaurant (an acai bowl and chicken sausage).

My only critique is that this hotel was quite pricey for a Saturday night in early spring. I checked in around 6pm and checked out at 9am, did not use any of the hotel amenities, and spent $520.55 for 15 hours.

I was a bit surprised at the tired/worn status of the room given the 4.5+ stars overall reviews of this hotel and many photos. My fiance and I stayed a single night to attend a lecture in the city. We had a Travelzoo deal, so thankfully we only paid $175 night. I guess for that amount the overall condition of the room is reasonable for the really great location of the hotel, but we were disappointed to see separating carpet seams, chipped paid along door jambs, slightly stained headboard upholstery and chipped furniture legs, etc. Nice that there was a balcony and a decent 6th floor view, though the concrete was very dingy, as was the AC unit stored on it. Our experience with front desk staff was excellent, from check-in through check out, and we appreciated being able to brunch immediately in the hotel restaurant which was fast service, super friendly waitstaff, but kind of expensive; thankfully some part of the resort fee or something was allowable toward food, so it defrayed a little bit. I'd be hard pressed to consider staying here again, even for $175/night - I'd pay a but more for a stay in a less worn room.

Instructions should be given upon arrival regarding the QR code in the room which shows guests how they can request things or find out about hotel services. We only learned about it because we had to call the front desk to get help with the thermostat. An engineer came to our room to help with the thermostat and then went out of his way to do the job that should have been done either at check in or via a written document which could be laminated and left in the room. The room carpet was dirty and needed a good vacuum cleaning. The patio door would not lock. Since we were on a higher floor, we did not ask for the lock to be fixed. The bathroom floor should be given a swiffer wet wipedown between guests. The lighted mirror in the bathroom did not work. The toilet kept running after flushing. We were able to get engineer help with that. WiFi service was horrible. Certainly, there should be better service for a daily fee of almost $41! The hotel room rate was so expensive, we couldn't stomach spending another $7.95.

If you are looking for a hotel with few amenities, this is the place.

The positives include updated rooms, except for the glass on the balcony door. They were cloud or dirty and obstructed our view of the city. In addition, buttons for lamps were missing and some of the lamps with arms swung freely and would not stay in place.

The lobby staff was very friendly and accommodating when asking questions about the local area.

In the morning there was coffee and tea service in the lobby. They also had a unique water machine that provided various natural infusions such as cucumber, strawberry, lemon, etc.

Although the Internet is littered pictures of the pool deck, there is no pool. The fitness center has a nice area with a refrigerator for bottles of water and fresh fruit, but they only offered small towels. There was a drinking fountain, but that meant you needed to bring your own cup or bottle.

The housekeeping is not consistent as our rooms were not serviced one day during our stay. I called to provide feedback and the response was that the housekeeping staff left for the day and they could bring towels. Not Acceptable.

One night we ate at the restaurant on what used to be the pool deck. The menu was limited consisting of flat breads, lobster roll, lettuce wrap, fish taco and build your own poke bowl. I asked the waitress for a burger and a salad. She said it was not on the menu. Interesting how it is available for room service, but you can't go the extra mile and accommodate a guest. I ended up ordering a build your own poke bowl with mixed greens, salad-related veggies, and cooked shrimp and balsamic vinaigrette. Yes, a $22 salad.

Last, but not least is the parking situation. Although the hotel has a separate parking garage connected to it, the hotel doesn't offer any discount. So be prepared to pay $47 per day for overnight parking.

On our next visit to Boston, I will definitely consider other hotel options.

Thank you for staying with us and sharing your feedback. I am sorry some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Trust that we will discuss these as a team to see where we could have done better and can improve in the future. Regarding the parking garage, the hotel does not own or operate it, so it is unfortunately not within our ability to offer a discount. Thanks again and we hope you try The Revere again!

My husband and I stayed here with our two daughters. We came to Boston to tour colleges and attend a show at the Wang Theater. We appreciated being able to book a discounted rate through a campus travel agency. Desk staff were friendly upon our arrival and allowed us to check in early, which really helped make our visit to Boston less hectic. We enjoyed the view of the city from our room, the comfortable beds, the uniquely themed decor, the helpful and friendly staff, and the location, which very close to the Wang and just a ten minute walk from Suffolk University. My only warning to future guests would be to bring headphones or earplugs as we could hear the TV from the guests in the room next door early in the morning. There was a connecting door between their room and ours; I believe that's how the sound was traveling through quite clearly. Perhaps there are other rooms without the connecting door that would be more sound proof? Regardless, it was a minor problem easily solved with headphones and would definitely not prevent us from returning to an otherwise excellent hotel.

The hotel is really a lovely oasis! We booked online through a travel platform and were immediately upgraded to a fantastic room on arrival. This earns the Revere a million stars! The hotel staff are the kindest and most attentive. Not only did they help me pack my car on leaving, but they also retrieved my Bose speaker and sent it to my home in another State within 2 days, carefully and beautifully wrapped in giant bubble wrap to ensure it wouldn’t suffer damage during shipping. Leo was fantastic! Honestly, we have stayed in many more expensive hotels and no one is this kind and attentive. Stay at the Revere!!!

Arrived in Boston super early and the desk agent (tall gentleman--im sorry I have forgotten his name) was welcoming and thoughtful and helped me get an early check in so that I could rest a bit before heading out to explore. The lobby and room was artfully designed and I loved all of the plays on lanterns through out the hotel in keeping with the history and theme of Revere's midnight ride. Bed was super comfortable, linens were fresh and soft, and the view and balcony was a great spot to watch a snow storm come in. Each staff member I encountered were so friendly and engaging. One of the engineers struck up a convo with me in the elevator and when he found out I hadn't yet tried a lobster roll he handed me a "stuffed lobster" to "tide me over" and I was touched by how cute and sweet this gesture was. Location was perfect for a solo traveler on foot to go out and explore. I enjoyed the Revere so much that I cancelled my time at another property and returned to the Revere for another night after a trip down to the Cape.

As the General Manager of a design focused boutique hotel, I understand very well that the details are where it counts and the Revere team knocked it out of the park. Two great stays in the span of a week and I will defintely be back soon to experience the Revere again! Great work, Team Revere! I loved every minute of my time with you!

The hotel is overall nice and clean. Pictures were accurate. It was a very expensive week to stay in Boston so my comments are influenced by that fact. There was a strong cleaning odor in the room and I found some of the bathroom amenities to only semi work or just be cheap.
