Have stayed at the Parker House before and when we obtained tickets to a Red Sox game decided that was a great location. Historic and comfortable located in a busy downtown area easy access to the T stop at Government Center and located right on the freedom trail . exemplary service from the valet, the bellboy ,front desk and restaurant staff who all strived to make our stay special. We ate breakfast at the main restaurant and had after dinner drinks at The Last Hurrah , both very good Walking distance to Downtown Crossing, Quincy Market A fridge in room would have been nice We had a lovely corner room and would stay again
My wife and I loved our stay here. It was our first time in Boston, and this hotel is so central to the Freedom Trail and Boston sights. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and we really enjoyed the Boston cream pie. It would be nice to come back after COVID so the restaurants/breakfast schedule or more normal.
Just for background, my husband has been employed in the international business sector for over 40 Years and we have travelled all over the world during this time. We also live on a small island which is a popular, premier vacation destination. We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the beginning of August. I will start off with two positive things about this hotel: great location and all the staff we encountered were professional, friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is dark, dingy and dated in my opinion. It was built in the Victorian era and was probably the height of elegance a century ago but not now! PFrom the moment you walk into the lobby, everything is brown ...dark paneled walls, brown and yellowish-brown carpeting which is just ugly. We had booked a suite which was a good size but it was very run-down: the wall to wall carpet had obviously stretched over time and was wrinkly and lumpy ... where it had once been seamed, it was unraveling. The bathroom was the tiniest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. There was absolutely no counter space, just a small shelving unit over the toilet with two small shelves. The king size bed was comfortable. The final straw for me was a mouse running in under the suite door leading to the corridor. I screamed and stamped my feet and it ran back out into the hallway. I called Housekeeping and their reply was “we’ll send someone up” but no one ever appeared. To my way of thinking, vermin in a hotel is a serious problem not to mention a health issue! I would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel.…
Wow, this place was neat. So historic. It was a site to see itself, along with all the other sights just nearby. It’s in the middle of the Freedom Trail, and off a main road. So be prepared for lots of traffic, city noise, and people. At least when we visited (August ). It’s location was helpful to take a break from sightseeing then head back out later. The staff were superb, the rooms clean, and overall a neat experience
We knew what we were getting into with this hotel. Our experience here was solid, and I am glad we stayed here as it is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the U.S., so it was neat from that perspective. Our room was a pretty good size, super comfortable bed, the bathroom was very small. The food at Parker’s especially the chowder was good, and the Irish lady at breakfast service is delightful. Ryan at The Last Hurrah makes a mean martini. Very very convenient location.
Wonderful hotel! They keep the historic building clean and beautiful. The staff are friendly. You feel transported back to the 1920’s. Our waitress, Jackie, at the Parker restaurant was fantastic. The reason why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 is there were some rowdy kids running around on our floor one night when we were trying to sleep. The front desk said they would send up security but they never did. I had to speak to them myself at 11:45 PM. I wish security had done it instead.
When you first walk in, the lobby is quite excessive and grand, but the actual rooms are underwhelming and disappointing for the price. The rooms were small and dark with obnoxiously loud heating/cooling systems. The Bathroom was cramped and gross. On the other hand, the location could not have been better. The hotel sits right on the freedom trail and is in close proximity to most sights. We walked everywhere without trouble during our stay.
I love the historical nature of this hotel! It adds to the ambiance to keep things looking “older.” Our room was nice but the bathroom…. I think it’s the size of my tub at home!! Plus the bathroom Door was unhinged when we arrived and fell on my child! I was not happy but maintenance did come to repair it right away. Thankful for that! The Boston Crème Pie in the restaurant is a must do! The staff is friendly and I love the little snack shop-gift shop downstairs! Overall a great, convenient location and experience! Beware, valet parking is outrageous- $57 a night! Overall, a bit overpriced in my opinion but a nice hotel!
As the longest lasting hotel in USA, this Omni property was something we looked forward to enjoy. After two nights here we would definitely recommend a stay. We would rate it as a 4 star hotel. Clean rooms, great food in the restaurant, somewhat various quality regarding the front desk staff. One of the guys behind the desk made our stay good as we felt welcomed. But one other guy looked like we where bothering him? I never understood why sour people works with customers. Why apply for a job like that in the first place. Well, other than that it is a cool place with tons of history in the building.
ZERO covid precaution among staff and patrons. Messed up reservations. Dated hotel. Tiny room/bathroom. Extremely noisy room at the intersection of 2 halls with loud neighbors when SPECIFICALLY requested multiple times in writing and verbally at confirmation and check in a QUIET room. Crowded breakfast area which did not even open until 7:00 a.m. with an extremely long line. Long process to check out with first a down computer in the first line, having to wait on another line, then waiting for an invoice with no charge/rate information on it in front of a clerk who was not wearing a mask. Invoice still not emailed to me more than 24 hrs after check out. (Still don't know what the charges are. I will have to log in.) Inflated prices for parking. Lobby entrance not ADA accessible. Taxi/car service/drop off area chaotic, confusing and chaotic right in front of entrance on a narrow side street.…
