Heidi is a very welcoming and friendly host but currently the state of the exterior and interior of the building bear no resemblance to the website. There was no access to the "Great Room" and whilst there are signs of a refurbishment they seemed to have come to a halt. The private bathroom for the Ashmont Suite is a loose...

My husband and I haves stayed at the Carruth House several times this year as we have travelled to Boston to help with family situations. I can sincerely say that the Carruth House has felt very much like home to me, having grown up in the Boston. The house is a wonderful older home filled with character. The location is...

This B&B is a treasure! The house is a little worn and a bit unkempt, but the charm is a delight. The bed was very comfortable. The cat Ella is adorable. Coffee on the porch with breakfast was most relaxing, the food was delicious and customized to our taste. Heidie is the most amazing hostess I have ever known. She...

If you are interested in Boston history this the place for you. We enjoyed hearing the historical story of Carruth house. Heidi loves her house and neighborhood. Our suite was large, clean and very comfortable. Her breakfast consists of fresh fruit, fresh baked goods from local bakery, plus, plus. One day she even bought a Boston Cream Cake. Yummy! A...

First the positives, a very kind hostess that is easy going and enjoys her role as hostess, easy walk to the subway, street parking is easy to find. Heidi is very upfront as describing the house as one in progress-true-but I would have to say the progress halted some time ago. Room and linens are clean, but too many aspects...

My fiancé and I chose the Carruth House as an alternative to expensive hotels in Boston proper. This choice worked well for us because the House is a 5 minute walk from a T-station, and we were able explore all of Boston, and then come home to a restful and quiet room. Heidi, the owner, is straightforward and super sweet....

We have just returned from staying at the Carruth House for a few days and enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and large. The house is large, and as the web page says it is a work in progress which adds to the charm and history of the home. Breakfast was very good with a lot of variety. Heidi was...

We just spent 4 days in the Ashmont Suite, and it was very neat and cozy, we slept well, the breakfast was good and Heidi is so sweet and attentive to her guests. It's also very close to the highway and the T so you can move around Boston pretty easily. The neighbourhood is safe and quiet.

If you want to hear people in the room next to you and doors opening and shutting at all hours of the night and the maid coming in at 8 o'clock in the morning, then you don't want to stay here. This is like staying at your grandmother's house. Comfortable, quiet, and clean. You wake up to the smell of...

It was a great experience. Heidi was a lovely hostess, also very helpful in terms of tourist recommendations (she lend us lots of books about Boston). The location is good also, because is really close (2 minutes walking) from a subway station (called T in Boston) so it was really easy for us to get every where we wanted to...
