hotel was great. Near some great shopping and excellent restaurants. We were in the Kennedy suite which was a good size. Long and narrow which was weird but not a problem. Tiny shower. Very good beds and pillows.

My wife and I stayed for one night in high season in Boston (fall foliage). The location in Back Bay was excellent, right next to The Hancock Building and Copley Square. The hotel was clean and comfortable and although the room was small, and shower room very average, the overall stay was ok, quiet at night.

Dear davis s, Thank you for staying at Hotel 140! Yes, we are in an excellent location just steps away from Back Bay Train Station, T Stops, restaurants and shops. Many of Boston's main attractions are within 1-3 blocks of the hotel. Our rooms are smaller than some of the area hotels, however, we are able to offer rates nearly...

I was given a room suitable for a person sometimes in a wheelchair with extra space and grab rails. This was ideal for me.maybe not if you need a roll in shower. The hotel is very central so good position to see the sights.Staff were friendly and helpful.Rooms were clean with comfy bed & good bedding.

The rooms need to be much bigger, and access through the front doors with luggage is very difficult - steps to negotiate😠 I know this is a boutique hotel, but the drab grey colour on all the room doors, makes it look more like a row of prison cells!

Great Location, Room was very clean but small as we only slept in it not really a problem. Room was on the 8th floor very quiet. Reception staff were all very helpful and cheery. Recommend getting a Charlie Ticket (weekly pass) at airport and taking the Logan Express to Copley Square just round the corner from hotel, great value as...

We paid $500 including taxes for one night stay. The room had no facilities - no welcome/information folder, no water, no bathrobes, nothing in the fridge, no TV guide, no view, no breakfast - nothing beyond the basics for a middle ranking hotel. Yes it was clean and quiet. But for the price it is a great disappointment when I...

This hotel was in a good location, near to the Amtrac station and subway. The hotel was very clean, staff were friendly but the room was very small. The "lounge area" only had hard chairs and tables, complementary tea and coffee, no real comfort.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
