Take your pick: thin walls, old clunking room heaters which wake you up every darn time they turn on, competing with the jet plane noise of the old bar fridge kicking in every hour. Or the bright flashing lights of the fire alarms strobing into your lids. Oh wait: you get ALL of these for twice the price of a...

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fully enjoy my staying because it was just one night. However, the staff was friendly and helpful, and my room was clean, comfortable, and it has everything that I needed.

Good hotel, friendly staff. Safe and pleasant location. Wifi functioning but often needs to be re-activated. A desk is provided, makes a pleasant room for working. Free coffee in the 7th floor. In overall a very good value.

Good location & Quiet. Make sure to ask for a room with view and, if you need to work, with a desk. No workout room. A room on the 7th flour with free cofee 24/7. Good bed. An additive closet in the room would be nice.

Had bad initial experience when we, (couple plus toddler in crib), were given a room so tiny that the crib didn't fit in it. The chap at reception said all the rooms were the same but the person who delivered the crib said it wasn't true as we suspected. Receptionist Imami saved our tip as we were considering getting very...

The location was perfect. You could walk in any direction and get to where you need to be. Obviouslly parking can be a challenge. They only took a few bucks off a very expensive garage. Other than that, its a great hotel.

We arrived at Hotel 140 a little worse for wear after a four hour red eye with very little sleep. Hotel staff managed to get us in a room 6 hours before check in time, with a promise that we could come back later in the day to switch to a larger room if we wished. We were given water...

Fabulous location close to T, Newbury Street, Copley, restaurants. Great staff. Room small and basic but entirely adequate. Have stayed here before and definitely would do so again. Only real negative was tiny shower for 6'3" companion!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
