#66 of 90 hotels in Boston
Welcome to Hotel 140. As a charming and intimate boutique residence, we offer a surprisingly affordable pied-a-terre in a neighborhood known for its pricey hotels. Located in Boston’s historic Back Bay, we’re a stylish newcomer in the heart of one of the country’s oldest and most captivating cities. Housed within a historic landmark building on Clarendon Street, our beautiful boutique hotel delights arriving guests with its graceful neoclassical architecture, contemporary services and amenities, and easy access to Back Bay Station. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, our exquisite building was constructed in 1929 as the home for the oldest YWCA in the country. We continue to enchant with distinguishing design touches like our bright, bustling two-story lobby, terrazzo floors, arched windows and tufted sofas and wingback chairs. And with immediate neighbors the Lyric Stage Theater Company and Viga Eatery, we ensure that you will always be entertained and well fed.

Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

Their breakfast left us hungry. Rooms are small but clean. The staff was 100% spot on, though! The building is more than just a hotel...a theatre, pizza joint, school and private apartments. I felt totally safe and it is super close to the T.

Great location to see many sites in Boston. Basic services with friendly staff. Near flour bakery for breakfast, great restaurants and Boston Gardens. Makes a great Centre from which to explore. Would recommend for short stay.

Clean and comfortable room. Good value for money depending on the exceptional situation. Two little less: a constant background noise of machinery, and air conditioner was blowing directly on the bed which is unpleasant. I stopped it.

A stone throw from Boston Commons (for a jog), Beacon Hill (for sightseeing and shopping), MGH (for health and travel to Cambridge-MIT-Harvard-Sommervile) this place is AWESOME and great bang-for-the-buck. It even has a shuttle next-door (on Dartmouth st.) DIRECTLY to Logan

The overall experience was great. The only thing is, my husband is allergic to dairy and he couldn't eat any of the foods from the breakfast lounge other than the fruits. So it would be nicer if there are more dairy free options.
