No place to park and unload the car.3 sets of stairs 4 each to get to front door and no bellman to help with luggage. They did offer a cart once inside the lobby.I booked a standard room .Most all hotels a gueen bed is standard .Not here,we had a full size the old fashioned kind. Our room was about the size... Unique thing is the room had a fridge in it to store my leftovers and chill my bottled water. While the rooms are compact, everything I needed was there in plain sight. I had but to look up to see the blow dryer hanging in the bathroom. Instead of a closet there's a metal rack with plenty of hangers, which... More

Room was ok. Quick overnight trip. Air-conditioning unit ran through a series of clicks every 5 minutes before turning on...luckily I had ear plugs as it was hard to fall asleep. No coffee in room unfortunately. Chose this hotel for the location as need to be in Copley Center area for meeting. Location was great.

Excellent location, great staff, quiet rooms, within walking distance of Hop On Hop Off busses. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. It is conveniently located near a parking lot that was clean and safe, too.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel 140. The reception staff were most helpful (even assisted with the laundry). Coffee maker in room which we also used to make tea! Very convenient location close to centre of Boston. Recommend visit to Isabella Stewart Gardner art collection.

Very strange situation. We paid 200$ a night to stay in this posh hotel which seemed to be housing the homeless. Maybe the government pay them and they use up the rooms - not sure but I didn't like this aspect at all. Day 1 saw me having a convo with a homeless guy in the laundry room who was... More

I visited Boston back in early June and I thought this hotel was in a perfect location for a solo traveller like me. It was reasonably priced at the time of booking and I was happy with my room. I had a standard room with a Queen bed. It was fine for one person but I can see why it... More

Hotel 140 is located in the back bay, close to shops, Prudential Center and the Boston Common. Rooms are nice although they were a bit small. Friendly and helpful staff. Really nothing to complain about.

We have appreciated the location in Back Bay, but the nights where very difficult because of the trafic noise and a too small bed for 2 personns of medium size. We have very bad sleep during our stay.

Need to address staff in restaurant. They were rude and inconsiderate and had a poor command of the English language. Commend Antony and young slim African American fellow on front desk who were absolutely fantastic.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
