Ok So....I never do reviews, but I feel like I just have to for Yacht Haven! From the moment that we arrived we were treated exceptionally well! Nancy opened the door for us and greeted us so warmly, then checked us in promptly. Our room was beyond perfect!!! From the view, the heated bathroom floor, the comfortable bed, the complimentary wine and water, to the wonderful breakfast delivered by Rene (the nicest and most cheerful man)...Nothing could have been better! Upon check out I had to tell the manager how wonderful our experience was and he said the kindest things about the owners of the property and the staff. You can tell when a property has excellent management! I Will Absolutely Return ASAP!

My wife did not want me to write this review for fear "everyone will want to stay here and we will never get a room again!". Well, sorry, too good not to share. This inn/bed and breakfast is perfectly situated on Boston Harbor near the Marriott Long Wharf on Commercial Wharf. We scored the "penthouse" for what I would consider a reasonable price for what we got. Our room was well appointed, clean and beautiful. But the drop dead gorgeous feature was the wrap around deck that had virtually 360 degree views of Boston Harbor and the city. The views were incredible both during the day and night. We had breakfast outside and felt like the rich and famous whose yachts were docked at the marina run by the inn. We are talking serious yachts. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but delivered to the room at your specified time. They take COVID seriously here and we felt completely safe. You can walk to the North End in 1 minute, the Greenway, Faneiul Hall, downtown and more in an easy walk. We are excited to have found our new "go to" place to stay in Boston!

First, let me say that we live in Boston. So how am I reviewing a Boston hotel? It’s a long-ish story. Here’s the scoop: We live in a neighborhood of Boston called Jamaica Plain with my 84-year-old mother. Since March we’ve pretty much been on lockdown except for going out for medical appointments. I teach at Boston University, and we went online-only back in March. It’s August and we decided to make a break for it and get in a mini-vacation. Because my mother is in a high-risk category for COVID and on dialysis three days a week, we either had to find a dialysis center that could accommodate her while we were away or work around her Mon-Wed-Fri dialysis schedule. My first thought was to try to get somewhere on the Cape or Vineyard. I looked into dialysis there and not surprisingly at this time of year they were booked. So, then I thought, well if we pick her up after dialysis on a Friday afternoon we could go someplace and leave early Monday morning and go straight to dialysis, basically giving us the weekend to enjoy some time away. The problem is, most places in resort areas want you to rent for an entire week this time of year. Demand for home rentals seems to be up during the pandemic, too. There were some nice home options, but none that fit my criteria or were available for weekends only. My only other option on the Cape was one of those resort types of motels. I found one in Yarmouth and booked it, but it wasn't sitting right with me because they couldn't guarantee me a specific type of room. I had a very specific checklist: 1) Water view with a patio or balcony that my mother could sit on and watch the action. 2) COVID cleaning products and procedures. 3) Near restaurants who'd also invested in No. 2. 4) A short enough distance from our house so we could get there and back in time for dialysis. 5) Decent reviews on Tripadvisor and other sites. 6) Accessible with an elevator if necessary. The place I booked in Yarmouth had OK, but not stellar reviews. It was two stories and they couldn't tell me which floor we'd be on so we risked having to drag a wheelchair, my mother, and our baggage up a set of stairs (they had no elevator). So, I continued my search online even after I'd booked. I'm not sure why, but an idea popped into my head: Why not try a hotel down on the harbor? I might not get the balcony, but we'd at least get a view, be close to home and near places to visit and eat. While I was looking at a map of that area I spotted something called the "Boston Yacht Haven Inn" that seemed to be a place to stay. Mostly they rent spots on their pier to yachts and other boats, but they also have an inn next to their pier. I know nothing about yachts or piers but I was blown away by the photos of their rooms, the fact that they had an elevator and they use some kind of misting system to thoroughly clean the rooms after every guest. They also had a single handicapped parking space next to the door (which we scored for our stay!). So I canceled the Cape resort and booked here. They did not have a weekend open, but they did have Mon-Wed. We picked mom up after dialysis on Monday and drove straight to the Inn. Left this morning and dropped her off at dialysis. I won't lie. The mini-staycation was not cheap. We spent the equivalent of what a week on the Cape would cost for two nights on Boston Harbor. Fortunate enough to be able to afford it. It was worth every penny, tho. It's the only vacation we get this summer. The room included snacks, wine, fridge, microwave, coffee, tea, and a full breakfast (menu includes two kinds of quiche, pancakes, cereal, a really fresh fruit bowl, bagels, croissant, etc.) which they deliver to your door. I think pre-COVID it was a buffet. On the first floor, there's a nicely appointed lounge with a pool table and a small gym that my spouse liked. We were within walking distance to the Rose Kennedy Greenway, several open (and closed!) restaurants. The staff at the Inn were efficient but we didn't see much of them. The front desk was empty a lot of the time. You need a keycard to get in and out of most spaces, so it felt completely safe. Loved the elevator that got us up and down with the wheelchair. The only drawback is that there's no curb cut right at the front door. Despite being parked at the door, we had to wheel down the end of the walkway to get to an area that was flush with the street and then push back up to the car or front door. Small issue that they may want to address going forward. The highlights: Spacious room (206) and the balcony with great views of places that we are familiar with in the city and close-ish views of some really fancy yachts. I've never seen anything like that. In short, I highly recommend the Boston Yacht Inn to Boston area residents and anyone from out of town. I think sometimes we forget what a beautiful city this is. People come here from around the world. If you live here you may take it for granted. I know I do. Thanks for the great “staycation” Boston Harbor Yacht Inn.

First time we had been to Boston and it was during the shut down due to the Corona virus. The city was basically shut down , restaurants, bars to all of the places along the freedom trail which made the time difficult, but the management and staff at the marina more than made up for it as they were just as fabulous as our room, and our room was perfect! 3 decks with fantastic views of the sunrise off the water, to the sunset behind the city skyline. The room was very clean, the bathroom had heated floors, the bed was very comfortable as were the pillows and that view...WOW!! Our new friends made our time there very comfortable and I could not say enough good things about them, but I would like to say thank you once again! I hope to return next year to see more of Boston and to stay there once again. I highly recommend!!!!
