When we arrived, she immediately greeted us at the door and we thought everything was fine. Her house was very cluttered to say the least, but otherwise it was a very nice home. She was quite a talker, but my partner and I weren't really bothered by it. She had us pay the whole thing upfront in cash, and did...

Ah, where do I begin. As an extensive user of TripAdvisor, you would think that I looked up the place before making reservations, but I didn't. Subsequently, I did look at the reviews, but since I spoke to the proprietor, I discounted the negative reviews. In addition, I figured that since a lot of the negative reviews were written by...

We paid for two nights, endured the first night, and then left first thing the next morning, happily forfeiting the cost of the second night. Many rules, very adamantly communicated and defended. We stayed in July; when I asked if our room could be cooler, the hostess said no, she preferred it warmer, and we would "freeze her out" if...

I just spent a week at Christiane's place and I had a wonderful time. I loved her house and Christiane made me feel welcome. She is caring and warm and I will definitely be returning to the Bunker Hill B&B! After a busy day of touring this is an excellent place to rest your head.

The clutter everywhere drove us crazy! We had no place to open and leave out our suitcases or to put away our clothes. Also Christiane insisted we use the same towels for the 3 nights we stayed there even though I used one of the folded up towels in the bathroom basket. She refolded the towel and returned it to...

We recently stayed at Christiane's B&B in Charlestown, across the river from Boston. Located near the Bunker Hill Monument at the start of the Freedom Trail. It is also, a 10 minute downhill walk to the T at Community College. Christiane is a friendly traveled woman with a wealth of knowledge and was helpful about Boston and getting around. We...

Christiane really went out of her way to help us enjoy our trip to Boston. She was upfront with us that only street parking was available, and when we arrived at midnight, she personally rode with us to show us a good safe parking area only about a block away. She also created a "custom" locked-up bicycle parking area for...

Don't use Greater Boston hospitality. I used them to find a place to stay in Boston - myself and a friend were told we should have breakfast every morning, laundry services and full use of kitchen utilities. However, we were put in one room with a mini fridge and a mircowave. When we asked about breakfast, we were told that...

Used greater boston hospitality to find somewhere to stay while living in boston. Asked to be close to Brookline, they put me in the Bunker Hill B&B on the opposite side of the city, a 3 hour trip from where I worked. Irritating woman runs the house, never stops talking about herself, incredibly ignorant, tries to be helpful but mainly...

ok, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. but that is all the good i can come up with. upon reading other reviews, let me reitterate my similar experiences: cluttered=OMG! like a hoarder, yes "free" parking=well, technically yes, but at least a block away from the house, if you were lucky. not her fault, but should be more...

Staying in Charlestown

Neighborhood Profile
Charlestown
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.
