It's not often that a hotel embodies all that a city stands for, but the Loews Boston is just that place. Housed in the stately limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, our recently renovated boutique property is-like the city of Boston itself-a unique and unforgettable blend of historic charm, urbane sophistication and authentic New England hospitality. Our exclusive Back Bay location, which is ideally situated between three of Boston's hottest neighborhoods-the South End, the Theater District and the Back Bay-puts you in the heart of all that Boston has to offer, with everything you want to see or experience, including the shopping on Newbury Street, just moments away. If you are in town for an event at one of Boston's many colleges and universities, we offer effortless access to the campuses of Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Emerson and Tufts Medical School, to name just a few. Our 225 spacious guestrooms, two luxury suites and an expansive Presidential Suite have been freshly renovated and bring you the ultimate in modern convenience and comfort. And our recently updated 1,024-square-foot Harrison Room-with its vaulted, 20-foot cathedral ceilings and crystal chandelier-is an unparalleled event space and the perfect location for your next intimate gathering.

This was the greatest disappointment of Loews Hotel I have experienced. From inadequate customer service, cleanliness to overall experience, just a disaster. - I booked for 3 nights with an American Express, but there were no amenities the hotel could offer. Never book with them directly, book with a Travel agent or online reseller as you will get more value. - Front desk utterly rude. I am used to Loews Boston being the best you can find, but here in Philadelphia seems unlikely they received the same training. They were neither knowledgeable nor helpful. - You can usually get information of how to contact them via text, this time none of that was given. When I tried to contact them using the text message service number I found on their website, the reply came 3 hours later. Just horrible. - Late check out was not possible in any shape or form. Usually during covid times you get up to 3 or 4 pm, or you get the option to pay an extension. I explained to them my experience in other hotels of this same brand, and my willingness to pay but still their blank expression told me they could care less. - The hotel was dirty. i understand it was understaff due to the times we are living, but still, it makes no excuse if you still charge the same prices for your stay. There was literally bags of trash on the halls. - Security was weak. At least twice there were homeless with visibly mental health issues screaming on the lobby. - Bar service was so bad. I was looking forward to relax at the bar, understanding it had limited hours, but the bartender was on his phone and the service took ages. The chacuterie I bought (because to drink you have to buy food) it was stale and just so poorly presented. It was depressing, to be honest. It was a celebratory weekend in a city that I was visiting for the first time and this was just the worst.

Dear Guest, Truly, our apologies from Loews Boston Hotel, on behalf of our sister property, Loews Philadelphia. And, on your behalf, I have sent your Review and Comments along to our General Manager at Loews Philadelphia. We are discouraged to learn that the positive impression we created in Boston was altered by your experience at another Loews Hotel, and we are equally disappointed to read your review. Please let me know of any planned trip, to any Loews city, and I will personally call your selected hotel and arrange an upgrade and welcome. Again, our apologies, Robert Rivers General Manager

My family and I stayed at the Loews Boston while I was in town for a few days for a medical appointment and related tests. I reached out to Mr. Robert Rivers two months before my appointment and explained my circumstances and the purpose of our stay. Mr. Rivers went out of his way to ensure my family and I were properly accommodated and treated extremely well. He also ensured I had a close and accessible parking spot as I am unable to walk long distances. Our check in was fast and easy thanks to Tom who helped us unload the car and bring everything up to our room. Tom was extremely friendly and told us to let him know if we needed anything at all. The rooms were modern, spacious and exceptionally clean. As we had an eight hour drive to the hotel, and arrived in the evening, Mr. Rivers had a delicious and filling snack and water bottles waiting in our room. That was exactly what we needed! Leslie and Giovanni were the staff at the front desk during our stay. They gave us their cell phone numbers so we could text them if we needed absolutely anything. That was a nice touch and made us feel even more comfortable. Mr. Rivers also helped book a special dinner to celebrate my wife and I’s wedding anniversary at Precinct (the on site restaurant). The food was delicious and the staff were extremely attentive. Our waiter’s name was Omar and the manager’s name was Matt. They both deserve the individual recognition. We now understand why Precinct is rated as one of the best restaurants in Boston. The hotel itself was beautiful and is in a great location, within walking distance to all amenities. We are extremely grateful to Mr. Rivers and his staff for ensuring we felt safe and at home while we were in Boston. I would not hesitate to recommend the Loews Boston if you are looking for first class service and a safe place to stay.

Over all I thought the stay was good and the front desk was courteous and informative. The only issue I had was when I went to shower early in the morning for my 6:30am business meeting, there were hair all over the walls of the shower from the prior person who stayed and were not cleaned off. In the Covid era we are working through, ensuring that the sites where we stay for work are clean is of upmost importance and that was the one area where I was disappointed.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your stay at Loews Boston Hotel and we appreciate your visit as well as your comments. Apologies that our standards fell short of our mutual expectations, and as you noted, ever more so during this critical time for perfection. Surely, our room attendants are under enormous pressure to ensure that they, along with all guests are safe and in an environment that assures protocols are being exceeded. This oversight will be reviewed and I assure you that we will support improvement. We hope that we might again host a future stay, Robert Rivers General Manager

We had the opportunity to get away for a night in Boston one more time before saying goodbye to 2020, and Loews Boston was the right place at the right time. With three teenagers in tow our days of squeezing a family of five into one room with a crib / rollaway / sofa option are gone, we needed two rooms, preferably adjoining. No problem, says Loews, hooking us up with back to back rooms at the end of a quiet hall, and it took my kids all of 5 minutes to lock themselves out of their room. The rooms are very nice, exactly as described - bed, desk, tv, fridge, etc. I found the little things were what made it. Getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom? Motion lights spring to life when they see you coming so you don't have to wake anybody up. The shower was big and spacious, and I wish I'd noticed the heated towel rack sooner! The tv's actually have Chromecast built in, so if your kids no longer do live tv and would prefer to stare at their phones, now they have the option of playing their content on the big screen. I love the subtle transition this represents - no more arriving at the hotel and wondering what's on. Got your phone or laptop? Play your own. The location of the hotel is right up against Newbury Street, an easy walk to the public garden and theatre district. We found it easily (and got back out to the highway equally easily). Parking's a little tricky, as the nearest lot is a block away, but we were encouraged to park right in front of the hotel, check in with our bags, then move the car at our convenience. One last thing that I'd not seen before, that I think all hotels should adopt? When checking in, they sent me a text that said "Just respond to this with whatever you need." I don't know if that's a regular convenience thing or a covid related less human contact kind of thing, but I'm just the type of introvert to be all over such a feature. Forgot to ask about checkout time? Text. Question about my bill? Text. No need to talk over a television, or wake up my wife. Easy! All in all a very nice place, and a nice way to get out of the house for a bit and have a mini vacation with the kids before the normal routine resumes in a couple of weeks.

Dear Duane and Family, We are so pleased to receive your review and thank you for sharing your New Year, along with your family, at Loews Boston! As you encountered, a lot of time and effort has been placed on ensuring our guest and team safety protocols are in place to protect everyone. Our Text option was pre-COVID and first hotel company to offer this as a standard service, so this will remain in place ongoing. Please let me know when you are ready to return so that we can again make your arrangements. Best to you and your family in 2021! Robert Rivers General Manager

Our room was very comfortable. The whole hotel was clean and lovely. The location was absolutely perfect. Even at 7 months pregnant, my husband and I easily walked everywhere we wanted to go. All of the workers we encountered were very friendly and helpful. It was a wonderful experience and we will certainly be back
