Everyone is always apprehensive when they get to a hotel. Hope the room is clean and big, location etc. Loews is a great base to explore Boston. We were really impressed. Rooms are large and airy. Staff are really helpful and friendly. I dont think we found a single fault with this hotel. We keep racking our brains for a... More

Stayed here on business July 25th for one night. A very nice place with an excellent staff. Everyone was very helpful and extremely welcoming. I would love to go back to Boston and spend more time exploring the city - when I do, this will be the place I stay.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and I can't say enough about the service. Every employee we were in contact with went out of their way to accommodate us and help in any way they could without being asked. The room was comfortable and very clean. The building is beautiful and unique. Great stay.

Stayed here for a couple of nights before a road trip around New England. All the staff we encountered were helpful and the rooms were very comfortable. We didn't eat in the hotel, preferring to explore the local area but were given good restaurant tips by the concierge (and also used trip advisor and the Time Out guide). We were... More

This is my second time staying at this property and they had completely renovated it. It looks fantastic! From the front desk clerk, the the wonderful suite, to the bell boy I couldn't ask for anything else. What I love is the service and it is in a great section.

My family and I got stranded in Boston due to an issue with the car rental place. This hotel took us in gave us a bigger room for the same price. Ellen the concierge absolutely saved our trip. When all the car rental companies refused to help us, Ellen found a national company that would. We were able to take... More

The hotel is very well located, within easy walking distance from the start of the freedom trail and lots of shops and restaurants. The room was a good size and very comfortable. Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's not often that a hotel embodies all that a city stands for, but the Loews Boston is just that place. Housed in the stately limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, our recently renovated boutique property is-like the city of Boston itself-a unique and unforgettable blend of historic charm, urbane sophistication and authentic New England hospitality. Our exclusive Back Bay location, which is ideally situated between three of Boston's hottest neighborhoods-the South End, the Theater District and the Back Bay-puts you in the heart of all that Boston has to offer, with everything you want to see or experience, including the shopping on Newbury Street, just moments away. If you are in town for an event at one of Boston's many colleges and universities, we offer effortless access to the campuses of Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Emerson and Tufts Medical School, to name just a few. Our 225 spacious guestrooms, two luxury suites and an expansive Presidential Suite have been freshly renovated and bring you the ultimate in modern convenience and comfort. And our recently updated 1,024-square-foot Harrison Room-with its vaulted, 20-foot cathedral ceilings and crystal chandelier-is an unparalleled event space and the perfect location for your next intimate gathering. ... more   less
