The hotel is ideally suited for a City visit. Good places to eat and visit easily reached on foot. in the hotel itself everything is of the finest. we especially liked the beds with duvets and reading lamps as well as the terrific extra shower stall, ,bathtub, heated tower rack and automatic night light to the toilet. Too bad we... More

Although we only stayed one night the location was excellent and the concierge was very helpful. The room was clean and the towel warmer was a nice touch along with the large television. We will definitely stay here again whenever we visit the area.

I like this chain of hotel. I have stayed in Loews in New Orleans and Montreal and loved them both. This one is not quite as nice as those others. Rooms are smaller, bathroom too but still comfortable ,very clean ,great beds and pillows and bath products. Some of the rooms have furniture without draws I refused that. Don't understand... More

The hotel was pleasant to stay in. The room was of good size and house keeping was regular. There was free tea and coffee every morning in reception. The door staff were very attentive. My only grumble is after arriving from an international flight we got in to our room at 22.30 and were starving. We had no room service... More

Highly recommend staying at this hotel. It's at a great location at a great price. Rooms are up-to-date and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful too. Wish the gym was larger and had more equipment. Plus, it would be great if the hotel offered a spa.

We recently came back from a three night stay at the Loews hotel in Boston. We had a great stay. The hotel is in an old police station which gives it a lot of charm. Our room was clean and well-appointed....plus, we had a view of the city. The lobby was nice and there was a great sitting room where... More

Lovely room. Well appointed hotel. Too bad they do not have the best of the most important thing needed, a good nights sleep. The beds and pillows sag in one side of bed and like rocks on the other side. Worst bed I have slept since a fold out sofa bed.

I had a wonderful stay at the Loews Boston Hotel. The hotel was very well maintained and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and paid close attention to detail. I was particularly impressed upon checking in, there was 1 person waiting in front of me and as soon as the front desk staff saw that there was a line... More

Our room was very clean and every amenity was available. Our concierge Ms. Coughlin could not have been more helpful and professional. The location is central to most anything you would want to do in Boston. I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone traveling to Boston.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's not often that a hotel embodies all that a city stands for, but the Loews Boston is just that place. Housed in the stately limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, our recently renovated boutique property is-like the city of Boston itself-a unique and unforgettable blend of historic charm, urbane sophistication and authentic New England hospitality. Our exclusive Back Bay location, which is ideally situated between three of Boston's hottest neighborhoods-the South End, the Theater District and the Back Bay-puts you in the heart of all that Boston has to offer, with everything you want to see or experience, including the shopping on Newbury Street, just moments away. If you are in town for an event at one of Boston's many colleges and universities, we offer effortless access to the campuses of Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Emerson and Tufts Medical School, to name just a few. Our 225 spacious guestrooms, two luxury suites and an expansive Presidential Suite have been freshly renovated and bring you the ultimate in modern convenience and comfort. And our recently updated 1,024-square-foot Harrison Room-with its vaulted, 20-foot cathedral ceilings and crystal chandelier-is an unparalleled event space and the perfect location for your next intimate gathering. ... more   less
