Just around the corner from Back Bay Train Station and handy to everything in the center of Boston- Walk to Boston Common, the State House, Copley Square. A close connection to the Orange and green lines and the commuter rail. Rooms under $100 most anytime. The hotel is old and a bit shabby. The staff is helpful and the location...

A great stay in The Boston Common Hotel and Conference Center. Location is, as the name implies, a few blocks from Boston Common in Back Bay. Easy to take the light rail to the hotel for $2.10. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if we ever get...

Great Location! The room is what is expected reading the reviews, dated. The bed was very comfy and the hotel was quiet at night (6th floor). Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations. Would definitely visit again!

This hotel is very old and run down. Nothing seems to have been refurbished or redone in years. There was rust throughout the bathroom and the bathtub was severely chipped. One plus was that the heaters worked really well and i didn't have a problem with customer service. The biggest downer was there is no wifi! You can only get...

I booked this hotel for a one night stay, upon arriving I found the room to be in worse conditions than the pictures showed. The carpets were filthy and the bed was definitely not the Queen size I had requested. When I called down to the desk to request a room change I was rudely told there were no other...

Was in the city for one night and had free Expedia points to use; was excited because it was close to the Commons. This hotel is the most difficult to find and park...and find again once you've parked...ever. There is a small sign up at the top of the corner of the building..no sign over the door...at all. No indication...

I booked this hotel for one night before a cruise after reading some favorable reviews on another site and was so disappointed to walk in and have to haul our luggage to a front desk with one person. The lobby had stained carpets and chairs plus there was no restaurant on site. When we got to our room, we found...

In town for BU Parents Weekend and Head of The Charles. The town is booked. Found this place because all hotels boost their rates this weekend. GREAT Location...BUT...Although it was cheaper than most it's old, tired and not well maintained. Bathroom was a mess...water pressure in shower was weak. Bed was ok. Overall an average experience.

Not clean, run down and generally shabby. I understand it was fully booked - probably with people like me who were unprepared to pay the high rates of the neighbouring hotels. the lift was out of action for a few hours and the staff are totally disinterested in providing any assistance for anything. on great thing was that on the...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
