Upon arriving in Boston, we waited for the airport shuttle, only to be told when we called, that the shuttle would not be arriving. We were instructed to take a taxi and that we would be reimbursed. Once we arrived after grabbing an Uber, we had to deal with the extremely rude and racist Henry Santos at the front desk who evidently did not expect that we would have the means to report his disgusting behaviour. When corporate reached him and questioned him, he told them that he didn’t think that we would actually complain and leave the establishment. Unfortunately for him, we did just that. We were extremely disappointed with our experience and thus cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.
In these trying times I’ve refrained from writing hotel reviews because I’m aware as to how negatively the Covid-19 crisis has impacted the hotel industry. As the economy is slowly waking up, hotels are still constrained by health regulations while operating with minimum staff. Therefore I typically check in not expecting anything more than what was promised and of course, decent customer service. While some hotels are making an effort to still go beyond what is expected, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boston at Logan Airport fell far short of the minimum standard I described above, and that is why I feel the need to make an exception and warn fellow travelers that their money could be better spent somewhere else. I stayed for one night on 6/13 and checked out at 5AM the next morning. I booked the Business Plus rate on the Hilton Honors Website for $175. This rate was supposed to include a $15 food/beverage certificate, premium WiFi, and 750 bonus points. My colleague and I arrived at Logan Airport at 2PM on a Saturday only to find out that the shuttle service didn’t start till 3PM. Upon check in, we weren’t given the $15 food/beverage certificate that was promised in our rate. The rationale was that their restaurant was closed. However, their 24hr “Pantry” was fully stocked and yet we were offered nothing but two bottles of water and shrugged shoulders. At this point I was even skeptical about the promise of premium WiFi, so I confirmed with the front desk employee at least that would be granted. But of course upon check out there was an internet charge. Rather than simply remove the charge, the female behind the counter wanted me to describe the employee that I spoke to the day prior (again, this was clearly included in the rate on the Hilton Honors Website). After the internet charge was finally hashed out, she didn’t even bother to offer me one the the very limited breakfast items that were behind her in a mini fridge. Her reasoning? Apparently breakfast doesn’t start until 6:30AM on weekends! Nevertheless out of the goodness of her heart she allowed me to have a microwaveable breakfast sandwich which she handed to me straight from the fridge. I actually had to ask her to microwave it. SMH! On a positive note, the room was updated and clean. The hotel is also located in a very nice part of Boston with beautiful and historic architecture. If the weather allows, it’s the perfect area to just walk around. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t consider staying at this hotel again, nor would I recommend it to any of my friends or colleagues.…
I stayed here before my flight out of logan Boston international airport. I had to return my car rental which happened to be with in walking distance of the hotel (next door). This was convenient. Took a free hotel shuttle to airport at 3 am with no problems. Rooms were nothing fancy but clean. We had two rooms. Overall, this was a very convenient, clean option for me to use before my flight. Was pleased, would stay again.
We wanted to be close to the airport, but able to see some of the sites during our short stay in Boston. This location was perfect! The hotel shuttle took us to meet the Silver Line and picked us up, so transportation was easy. The staff was very accommodating, from check in to check out. We enjoyed a clean room, an excellent made to order omelet and nice appetizers in the evening. According to Massachusetts State law, they may not offer complimentary libations :) And the water pressure in the shower was amazing!!!!!
A standard (in a good way) Embassy Suites with a good location at Logan Airport. Far enough away from the airport itself so noise is not a problem. The included hot breakfast opens at 6am which was perfect for our morning flight. Easy access to Boston proper by walking to the nearby Rental Car Center and taking the shuttle to the Airport T station (Blue Line) into town. When checking in, ask for a high room with a city view.
