Had a wonderful long weekend stay at the Taylor house as a group of three couples. We shared a suite on the upper floor with three bedrooms and a common area for the first few nights and then moved down to individual rooms (each with their own theme) later in our stay. Both were very comfortable and feedback was positive... More

INNKEEPER’S FAVORITE REVIEW

The absolutely lovely Taylor House Bed & Breakfast is the ideal place to stay when visiting Boston! My husband and I are a young newly married couple and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay--bed and breakfasts aren't just for grandparents! :) The owners are very kind and welcoming, and talking with Jose at breakfast was a delight. I cannot stop gushing... More

Awesome place very close to central Boston. I really enjoyed my stay, especially the super fast Internet! I work mainly on the computer, so I really appreciated having Internet I could rely on. The breakfast was great and the place was very comfortable and relaxing. The room also got nice and chilly, which was great after a hot day in... More

Our second visit was also comfortable and relaxing. We have learned not to expect too much in the way of hosting but in a way it feels like coming home to family and being trusted with the property. This time we had two rooms in the third floor suite, with shared bath, and so had all kinds of room, including... More

This lovely B and B was fully booked, so we were unable to stay this time. The owners directed us to a very pleasant boutique hotel nearby. Still, the next time we visit Boston, with more advance planning, we hope to stay here again. The owners are friendly, accommodating, make a great breakfast and absolutely make one feel at home.... My wife and I were looking for a place to stay during our visit to Boston a few years ago. We wanted something near the city center, but quite, and found it in the Taylor House. This beautifully restored Victorian home offered all the amenities we wanted. The breakfast is worth getting up in the morning for! Daryl, Dave and... More

This was our first stay in Jamaica Plain, a neighborhood of Boston that we found a bit noisy and littered, but diverse and vibrant. The Taylor House is situated down a quiet street, close to Jamaica Pond. The old house is quite elegant, and we found our room to be comfortable, if not overly spacious. The bathroom (and sink) were... More

Our daughter lives in JP and we really enjoy staying at Taylor House when we come to visit. All of the rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms have great fixtures and nice tiles. Good bed linens and towels. Everything is well-designed and well-cared for. Breakfast is a help-yourself affair which we prefer since you can help yourself when you... More

Lovely, quiet, immaculate, pleasant, pet-friendly, 19th Century house(s) within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the pond, everything that downtown Jamaica Plain has to offer. Convenient parking, if you have a vehicle. Easy access to public transportation for the rest of Boston and beyond. And, breakfast? Daryl's breakfasts are The Best. Interesting guests to meet at breakfast, too.

A beautifully decorated, charming B & B in beautiful, quiet, peaceful location. Very attractive mid-week rates. Excellent value for the money. Easy transit routes into central Boston. Close to a number of great restaurants.

Staying in Jamaica Plain

Neighborhood Profile
Jamaica Plain
This Boston neighborhood feels like a distinct community unique and separate from the bustle of other areas. Beautiful Victorian homes, restaurants with an emphasis on being eco-friendly and providing local and organic food, and a large Hispanic community. Visit Centre and South streets for restaurants, cafes, and little shops. The Arnold Arboretum is a beautiful, large green space well worth a visit if you venture to JP.
