We chose this hotel because there was a little write up in the paper about what to do during winter vacation. They had a nice deal especially for a Boston hotel. Well the staff and hotel were great...I'd never stayed there before and my boys had a great time. It was rainy but the location would normally be very nice...

My husband and I celebrated his birthday in Boston, staying at the Hotel Commonwealth. It was perfect. Clean room, very welcoming and helpful staff and a perfect location. Cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Boston now that we found this hotel.

I stayed here for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised by virtually everything this boutique hotel had to offer. Tim, the bellman, saved me when the zipper broke on my suitcase and I couldn't get it open. The reception staff were always friendly and helpful. The seafood restaurant adjacent to the hotel was to die for...get there by 6 for...

The hotel is perfectly located - close enough to almost everything to walk to, if one likes walking, even to downtown Boston. And the staff is extraordinarily friendly! We didn't have a coffeemaker in the room but were jetlagged so in urgent need of caffeine and got a complimentary coffeemaker delivered to our room. The rooms are nice but a...

We are local residents who stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth for a date night/staycation. Fabulous junior suite had everything we could ever dream of. We didn't want to check-out. Huge sitting area, views overlooking Kenmore Square. Gorgeous hotel all around. Absolutely loved everything about it and it has now surpassed the Langham as my favorite hotel in Boston. We brunch...

My husband and I went to Boston for a Bruins game and stayed at the Hotel Commonwealth for one night. The location is fantastic -- central and convenient to everything. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and even upgraded our room. We had a great night of sleep and wished we could stay for another night. We'll be...

My experience with Hotel Commonwealth was fantastic. The people at the front desk were extremely polite! Big shout out to Sean who was very professional and warm! The rooms were clean and spacious. Its a little hard to find parking during the week so we valet parked our car.(pricey at $46 per day) Whenever we needed to go out, we...

Hotel Commenwealth was an awesome experience. Terrific service across the board, the guys that open the door, the valet, the front desk.... Highly recommend it. Good location as well. They upgraded me to a junior suite which was a great room. A true pleasure. Only negative was $46 overnight valet parking.

The Commonwealth is my home away from home when I am in Boston for business for a myriad of reasons: welcoming staff, highly level of cleanliness, well-designed desk perfect for business travelers who need space to work, comfortable bed linens and pillows for sleeping, elegant decor, great restaurants, convenient location and excellent room service.

I travel a good deal but this was my first experience of the Hotel Commonwealth. The location in my mind is superb: adjacent to but not fully in the central downtown, near Fenway, MIT and Boston University, with a wealth of lovely walks and great restaurants nearby. The rooms are generously sized and very tastefully decorated; the bathroom and bed...

Staying in Fenway / Kenmore

Neighborhood Profile
Fenway / Kenmore
The Curse of the Bambino may have ended years ago, but loyal Red Sox fans will continue to infiltrate this home to historic Fenway Park, where you can find victory banners, people yelling in stereotypical Boston accents, and lots of sports bars. Located within Kenmore Square, the old gas station Citgo sign is another Boston skyline classic seen throughout the city. In addition to a hectic and diehard sports mentality, this neighborhood is also home to some of Boston’s many universities. Move from Boston University territory to that of Northeastern, and spend time at the famous Museum of Fine Arts. For more culture, check out the smaller but equally beautiful Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Continue off the beaten path and check out the green space in the Back Bay Fens, a pretty community garden. This diverse neighborhood has a mix of universities, sports, culture, and more residential green space.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A thoughtful reimagining of what a Boston hotel can be, Hotel Commonwealth unhinges luxury from its traditional definition to bring guests urban vibrance and the ultimate in unscripted hospitality, right in Kenmore Square. That our stylish spot flanks Boston's beloved Fenway Park shines bright on its list of perks, as does being in easy embrace of the city's prominent academic, medical, technology areas. Offering notably ample guestrooms, an authentic "of-service" culture, and food so good even the locals are loyal, our hotel has distinguished itself as a Boston favorite. Newly conceived interiors remain faithful to the hotel's legendary welcoming feel, blending effortless style with considered comforts to create a relaxed urban destination. The result? A refreshingly real hotel where travel smart professionals and knowing influentials converge for inspiration and the unbridled joy of getting it right. This is Hotel Commonwealth. ... more   less
