South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.

We had a great experience over presidents day weekend. David greeted us when we arrived for an early baggage drop off so we could explore the city. Instead of just dropping our bags, we were guided to our room, which was ready for us as an early check-in. It was great to be able to drop off our luggage and freshen up after our flight before going out exploring. Our room (Albee) was spacious, and even had a reading nook. If it had been warmer we would have enjoyed the balcony, though the views were still nice. We found it quite quiet on the top floor. Breakfast is the real gem here. There is a nice selection to choose from, including fresh pastries from a local bakery. David was attentive at breakfast every day, making sure our breakfast was ready at our requested time, and our coffee cups were never empty while we were sitting. David was also ready every morning with tips about nearby restaurants and stories of his theatre adventures. The B&B is located perfectly for exploring the city of Boston, but is still in a realatively quiet neighbourhood so you can get away from the hustle and bustle. We will definitely be staying here again.

Very nice hosts, well designed rooms (ours was designed in a 1970ies, Woody Allen film set style) and excellent European-style breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at the Encore. Definitely recommended.

We visited family in the South End and found the hosts and the place easy and very accommodating. We had a redeye from the West Coast and Reinhold reached out the day before our arrival saying we could have our room the early morning of arrival. What a gift that was...a little nap and change of clothes.. made the day great. Amazingly accommodating. 2 things to note.. there are a lot of stairs.. so be aware. If hosts are available they helped with our luggage. something to note.. and unlike some B & B's there was no common area to lounge in. Sometimes as a couple we like to have separate places to be when coming in for the day to unwind...or get ready for later...one naps, the other reads.. that's the ONLY thing I missed in this otherwise perfect place to be. Big rooms..great bed.. lovely breakfast nook.. and nice guests and hosts..

Dear Sharon. Thank you so much for your excellent review; it is highly appreciated. We are well aware of the shortcomings, that you mention, but when we designed our small B&B we made the conscious choice to provide comfortable seating in every room as opposed to a lounge area, which we experienced empty in B&B's we visited and in addition a potential lounge area would lead to additional costs in the prohibitive expensive real estate market in Boston. We are looking forward to host you again

We stayed at this bnb in Boston after extensive decision making! We are from the UK and as the pound is very weak all accommodation in Boston was incredibly expensive. Following great reviews we chose here are were not disappointed. Unfortunatley the owners (who have great reviews on here) were away but clear instructions were left on the door. There was some confusion on the parking and there is only one space. We put it as a request on booking.com but not sure if that made it through. It may be worth e mailing the property in advance just to confirm if you need parking. The room was big and spacious and fabulous products in the bathroom. There is use of a communal fridge and kitchenette for tea making etc. The breakfast from the bakery was absolutely amazing and the best breakfast we had during our multi stop trip to the USA. The bnb is in a great location for the city and also for the red Sox stadium which we went to. There are many great restaurants near by and the menus in the room helped us to choose. Overall a great bnb which I would thoroughly recommend.

Dear Laura. Thank you for an exceptional review! It is especially appreciated since there have been issues with the parking. We ask on the booking.com website to make parking reservations and we are sorry, that your parking request didn't come thru, because things could have been sorted out beforehand. We also like your comments about the kitchenette, because, because some guests miss coffee and teamajer in the room, while the kitchenette is right in front of there door.
