The staff were attentive and welcoming on arrival, and took care of everything for us, making check-in a breeze. The room had breath-taking views and was spacious enough for a family of four to stay in. Cleanliness and attention to detail is really this hotel's forte. There was a welcome tray in our room, with cakes, tea kettle, and a... More

My wife and I really enjoyed staying here. It is a short walk to the Boston Public Gardens and a 5-10 minute walk to the theaters and great food. The rooms are well appointed and modern as would be expected. I left my bag near the Valet and they were kind enough to promptly put it in the mail and... More

Dear palmer77, We thought leaving the bag was just going to be an excuse to come back and stay again. Bittersweet being able to reunite you and your bag so expeditiously in that sense. There are a number of great options for all meals in this area (including our very own and very new - Highball Lounge!) Thanks for choosing... More

Okay, so I'm a little of a Kimpton junky. Their staff is always friendly and go out of their way to make your stay the best. I've never been to Boston before but this location was central to the entire city. I really was able to walk or take the T to everywhere I wanted to go. I know it... More

The staff at the hotel could not be nicer. I want to particularly give kudos to Anthony at the front desk - so accomodating and genuinely warm. I got in early on Saturday and he checked to see what was ready - not much because it was so early, but he upgraded me to a room on the 14th overlooking... More

Dear RJN_7, Bostonians really do try to squeeze 12 months of Common use into 9 months. Not to say it's not lovely blanketed in snow. Heck - they even re-purpose the frog pond into a great skating rink once the cold sets in. I'm even told the Sons of Liberty actually planned the Tea Party while ice skating one wintry... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed our time in Boston. The hotel is right in the thick of the major tourist attractions, about 3 minutes walk from the start of the Freedom Trail. The restuarant was being renovated while we were there but a continental breakfast is served on the 3rd floor instead for $12, which was... More

Great location a stone's throw away from Boston Common and the subway, with loads of choices for eating and a Starbucks just around the corner. Happy hour is a nice touch, as well as the fruit infused water in the lobby which we always had on arriving and leaving. Very comfortable stay, free wifi we are thankful for. Will stay... More

We stayed at the Nine-Zero for three nights. Arriving just after 6pm, we were checked in quickly and given a glass of wine - great touch. Originally, we booked a king premier room (which we stayed in the first night), but upgraded to a skyline view room for two nights - definitely worth it. Kimpton service was at its finest... More

The staff at the Nine Zero is fabulous. The free wine reception was a wonderful little treat. Nine Zero is nearly perfectly located an the center of things to do in Boston. But of course we do love them (and their owners) and will even help keep an eye on them if they have anxiety about being alone while their parents' tour the city.[author's note:... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
