We loved our stay at the Ames Hotel Boston, between Christmas and New Years! You can't beat the location, especially if you are doing the Freedom Trail and taking the mass transit. Both have stops just steps from the door. Our double room was huge, the ceilings high, and the decor very tasteful and trendy.

This location is in the financial district of Boston. It is a quick ~10 minute or less walk to Quincy market. The hop-on hop off bus also stops right near the hotel. You can catch the T right across the street, literally less than 5 minutes away. The hotel itself is very small, small modern lobby (I believe only one...

We had a nightmare journey from Philadelphia and had to abandon plans for time in Niagara before heading to Boston. We therefore arrived in Boston two days early but the Ames fitted in our extra stay at very short notice and we even kept the same room as originally booked. Our luggage that was lost by the airline was reunited...

While the lobby and the breakfast areas are small and not exactly comfortable for a large group, the rooms are amazing and absolutely stilish. The design is modern and yet cozy and friendly. Definitely a great surprise!

Had high hopes for Ames to be the new go to when in Boston, but would probably not stay here again. Check in was a breeze, but staff not very friendly. Room was a corner suite that was very spacious for a room in the city. However the room felt dingy and dirty. I am all for clean lines and...

Enjoyed our weekend stay and was able to walk to the Boston Garden and to dinner in the North End. Staff was very present and efficient. Definitely would use the Ames Hotel in the future. The valet price was steep at $50 but we didn't need a car.

Great location, very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I was on the 15th floor by my choice and yes, the windows were small but the majority of the time I was in my room, my eyes were closed so it wasn't a big deal to me.

It's a great Boutique hotel in a great location. The staff are professional and friendly. The rooms are clean and very modern. I've stayed there many times and it's always been a great experience. the only thing lacking is a bar/lounge area but they are renovating now and it will be open soon.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
